if he is a split he will pass the gene on to 50% of his off spring... so then u would have to breed him back to his offspring and if you had 2 that where both split u get 25% that express the gene... the hard part is the numbers u would have to hatch... i would try to hatch 25+ chicks from him...
at our meetup last week i learned that this is not true... according to the UOA and DR Keith Bramwell the hens sperm storage works on a last in first out basis... so as soon as a hen has been bred by a new rooster she will start to use his sperm to fertilize any new eggs... obviously the egg...
