Bunny, you are right. It is very hard to get good veggies to grow in a garden here in east NC. Last year, my tomato plants were pitiful. Going to try a different variety this year. I always have beautiful squash plants and like you, I get squash until the borers come along. I did get a lot of...
Tara, you are so right. Too many people today think they are entitiled and don't want to work like we did for what we have. They want new cars and houses right away...something I worked for for years and then they can't make the payments on them. Or they are living in tremendous debt. Too much...
Agreed Scott....fun, and a lot of work. Tara, you are so busy, creative, and productive. I need to take lessons from you . I've been lazy this winter, but when Spring comes around, I got to get to work. So much to catch up on. The dog bus is looking great!
Doesn't seem like it's time to start thinking about a garden, but won't be long before the Spring veggies are ready to plant. I do raised bed gardening and have to be choosy about what I plant....not near enough space. I do pretty good with tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash. I'm going to try some...
Hi Tara! Haven't been on in a while and sure miss your posts. Always love your pictures of the dogs in the snow and the cinnamon buns look really good. I read the link on the wool mattress and looks so comfy, but a lot of work. I'm sure the end product is worth all the work.
I know nothing about ice fishing...what kind of fish do they catch? Just looks too cold for me. I like the hut with the satellite dish and solar panel...looks comfy.
Scenery and sunsets as beautiful as ever and the food looks delicious. Love this cartoon...My dh was scooping poop up in the run a while back while the girls were on one of their roosts. He bent under the girls to scoop and one pooped on his head. He wasn't amused, but I thought it was hilarious.
Thanks for the Sandhill link! It will soon be time to start my tomatoes inside. Supposed to be sunny and near 68 degrees here today...like a Spring day....then get cold near the end of next week. Our temps are up and down....still hoping for that elusive snow.
I don't mind hot so bad....it's the humidity that's the killer. We have hot, humid summers here in eastern NC.
Tara, love the snow pictures...we've only had a few flakes so far. Doesn't look like we're going to get snow any time soon...I'll keep hoping.
Thanks for all the vegetation pictures. Longing for spring and the green. Tara...you and Rick are two of the busiest folks. Do you ever rest? Don't see how with all you two have going on.
Tara, I love your man porch....I love your whole ranch! I live in town on a small lot and keep hoping to move to the countryside. We keep talking about selling the house, but so far haven't taken that leap.
Never too early to get the seed catalog out. I don't have a large area to have a garden, so I do raised gardening. Do you have a fairly short growing season....your garden last year was so lush and green.
Agreed...don't think I can even think as fast as she can type.
Tara, I don't know anything about limestone. Does it compact well and where do you get it? How many inches of sand do you use in your houses and what do you have under the sand? I added about 4" of sand to my run last year and of...
