    Spring Chicks!

I would not mix silkies with standard breeds. Silkies are cute, but they come with more maintenance. They are more prone to external parasites, and hens go broody constantly.

    Spring Chicks!

They finally have someone to pick on. :) and have the most to lose.

    Spring Chicks!

Make sure your chicks have escape routes, and can't be cornered.

    Spring Chicks!

The ones that tend to be most interested in new chicks are usually the bottom birds. They don't want to lose their ranking, no matter how low it is, so bottom birds will often peck chicks more. My top birds mostly ignore new chicks.

    Spring Chicks!

These are gonna be really friendly birds. Watch your eyes around them. You don't need a repeat of the eye pecking incident. ;)

    Spring Chicks!

I'm gonna wing it and see what she gets. I definitely want a female so hopefully there's one of them. I like the mix, but have always wanted a pure Frenchie, so we will see what my options are and go from there.

Same breeder, I forgot I told you. It will be a pure French bulldog or a 3/4 French and 1/4 Boston depending on which female I pick from. She breeding 2 females this year.

    Spring Chicks!

First time with geese. I have a flock of 24 bantams currently house separately from the bigger breeds. I actually cut my standard chick order down about 10 chicks, but than added the bantams. I won't even mention the bulldog pup that I'm on a waiting list for. :wee Hopefully in the fall. :ya

    Spring Chicks!

You have a nice property. Do you ever get predators being that close to woods? Love the wrestling cats. :)

    Spring Chicks!

Mine aren't hysterical like some breeds, but they are aloof. I don't handle a lot so I can't say if handling will change them. Mine just don't really care about me, or about being forward and present. I always forget I have them, but I do have about 80 birds in the big flock.

    Spring Chicks!

I often forget I have spitzehauben, they are busy and roost up high. I never trip on them. :)
