They are very pretty! Look kinda like the oegb red pyle... But i dont know anything about Colors, so don't bite my head off for making the conparison! :-P
Yay! My pullets are only 12 weeks... so I'd say it'll b next spring before I get any eggs from them. :-]
I don't know if anyone has answered your request, but i got my Brahma bantams at a hatchery... If you arent going for show stock, that might b a good route. Mypetchicken.com will sell and ship a minimum of 3 chicks.. and I've heard nothing but good about them.
@livininbrazil. Aww!! Yup, they are super adorable!!
@bumpercarr I'm sorry about your dad... :( hope you are making it ok now. drive safe!! I don't know about guard dogs...you wanting them for your chickens or for you? I've heard that herding dogs actually make good "chicken keepers" when...
Not show birds really, but I would like to keep the ones that are most like the SOP. Preferably one cockerel and two or three of the hens.
Good!!! I'm glad im not the only one. ;-)
When are they supposed to start laying, btw?
THOUGHTS WANTED. :-)
Here's my seven brahma bantams. They are 10 weeks old, and I'm curious which ones you like best, and which ones you think I should keep.

I've been very pleased with customer service at Meyer, but not so impressed with the Welsummer that has feathers on her legs, and the "orpington" that...
I have a columbian Wyandotte hen whos face looks SO MUCH like this girl its scary! Did they use the brahma to create this color in the wyandottes or visa versa?
@bumpercarr, @katt66, @carcar80
Very good thoughts from all 3 of you about the cockerels.... Thanks! I had thought that i needed to tame my roosters so they are gentle! I will keep,my distance now. :)
Thanks for all the tips everyone! I have handled them and given them treats from day one... And the older they get the worse they are. I moved them to their new pen outdoors about a week or so ago... I wonder if thats the main problem.
So all the books say that Brahmas are super laid back and will basically sit in your lap. Um, not quite so with my 7. The pullets only just barely tolerate me but the cockerels think I'm the scariest looking creature around. They go cower in a corner as soon as I open the door. Not cool. Anyone...
Really?! Sweet! :) I am so confused about gender with my Brahmas. Guess i will have to keep them all and see who turns out to be what in the end.
I was curious about the comb question too...
