In my experience, Sumatras are very cold hardy. As long as they have a place to be out of the wind they will be fine.

He is obviously not a purebred Sumatra, notice the single comb. Sumatras should have a fairly tight peacomb. This one is 7 months old in these photos. This is a nice comb shape, (this is not my picture) This one has a bit too much wattle and while comb is nice in shape, it should be...

Here is a good representation of what could happen if I wanted to sell her as a pure Sumatra, I could do so to an unsuspecting person as she looks very close to pure...

It is a black Sumatra pullet from someone that breeds Sumatra for showing. He was going through his breeding pens and found them. He noticed that the tails were either extra wide or too low for Sumatra. He knows that I breed Cubalaya and immediately thought of me.

I have a friend with a very low tailed Sumatra, I think I will be getting it. I am not planning on making more Sumatra with it though. I've got some Sumatra half breeds hatched.

I like him a lot! I don't know how well he would do in the show world, but he looks very nice! He looks more like the old style Sumatra did back in the early 1900's. How old is he and how much does he weigh? His tail appears to be a bit lower than the old style, but I really like his body type...

You will frequently find spurs on American and Oriental game fowl. Our one line of cubalaya has them. It looks quite unique to have a multiple spurred hens growing spurs. They don't grow like the roosters spurs, but they do get longer than the non growing spurs. Kinda like a bit of a glob on...
