Hi there,
I have a question about this type of egg and what causes it!
Note that these are king (button) quail eggs. I just got an unusually completely white egg, and another completely without a shell, which is soft and spongy! This picture is attached
Please help me about this.
Thanks.
Hello All!
So the day before New Years (Dec.30th) I placed a couple button quail eggs and 2 jumbo quail eggs in my 12slot incubator with hopes that they would hatch... No such luck, but just for the heck of it, I continued placing every button quail egg I've found in the incubator with hopes...

Context; I put 10 fertile button quail eggs from my birds in the incubator. Lost power early on for 24hrs and eggs got down to 70° F by the time power came back. That was day 4 or 5.
By lockdown, I had weeded out several that had quit early. I didn’t open...
Button Mama with her adopted baby Snowflake Bobwhite. When you have too many baby Snowflake quail, you give one to a motherly Button quail. The adopted Father who is mated with Mama Button also taken part in raising this Baby.

I've been looking into raising/breeding quail myself for agessss and me and my mom have 100% decided it'd be really fun and possibly even useful to do.
We were thinking about having an outdoor aviary for Japanese quail for months now, but my mom is gonna have heart surgery soon and will be in...
So sometimes my button quail will randomly do like a dying squawk and then just flop onto the ground. Like full on head splat on the ground, body flat, like he died and just went "bleh". Idk how to explain it, but his head lays flat on the ground. Scares the hell out of me, but when I approach...
I took out her first ten eggs to give to someone else. I didn't want to hatch them bcuz they looked small. My button quail first laid two eggs after that. They are both next to each other in the cage. I didn't see anymore days following that so I assumed she was done laying. However, I checked...

I’ve not hatched any buttons since maybe 2015, or so, and my last button died in 2020.
I have recently ordered 15+ CBBQ eggs from burtonspirogue aviaries and they will be arriving on the 26th!
I’m hoping for a good hatch rate, but these are shipped eggs so I’m not sure what to expect (my last...
Long ago — LONG AGO — I was given an adult pair of button quail who managed to raise a clutch in a flight cage for finches.
Since we aren’t allowed to have chickens here I thought I would skirt around the issue a bit and try just a small amount of Buttons (18 eggs). At least I know that if...
so i've been keeping my button quail on small animal bedding (the lil tissues) and have been considering changing their bedding to something different. the small pet bedding is very expensive, and i spend lots of money getting it for them every month. would i be safe to use soil or dirt for...
