Hey there, it’s the last 3 days of incubation, and one of the eggs started pipping. and I know I’m supposed to stop turning the eggs and increase the humidity. But I’m not sure on what the humidity should be set to ?
cheers

I am so crushed! Been incubating duck eggs for first time. We initially had 3 (one went bad early on). The two remaining have been thriving and growing and moving and doing great when all of a sudden I candles one of them (day 20) and saw this. Didn’t see any movement and I’m certain this is not...
hi there, my eggs are on day 19, yesterday i had the humidity way to high for lockdown.
i let it be hoping it would lower over time, and it has the hydrometer of the incubator i am using says 76, i do not have an individual hydrometer and that is a fault on my side this is my first time using...
Hi all, I have this old homemade incubator that I have only used for ill pigeons and their chicks. It has a thermometer an automatic light-heat-situation but there is no way of measuring humidity. My question is is there some kind of way I can keep the humidity more or less correct without the...
I am a new duck mom, raising my first set of ducklings, and I have a question about humidity in their environment...
I have my lights as far away from their water as possible (only shinning in a small corner on the opposite side, which seems comfortable to them). And have scaled down to a 75...
So days 1-10 my humidity was average 65. Finally figured out my humidity on day 10 and lowered it to 50-60. I’m currently on the first day of lock down. With humidity holding at 65-68. Do you think the chicks will be okay?
At first I thought I knew everything about incubating eggs, but it seems that the more I read the more I am confused? Some people say to put the humidity as low as 40, and others say no less then 55. I even see people putting it as high as 70 for the first few days! So which one is it??? Is 50...
Hi all,
Newbie here to hatching eggs with a bator (so much less worry/fuss with a broody. 😃). I'm on my second hatch and was wondering what temperature is too hot or too cool for a forced air incubator? I have the Hovabator 2370 with an automatic turner. I just set the eggs this morning and...
Currently I’m hatching eggs, there are peacock, turkey, and guinea. I know mixing eggs like that isn’t a smart idea but normally they do fine. I’ve had to open the incubator so many times that I am very worried that I have completely messed up the humidity. A chick got its foot stuck so I had to...
We are approaching day 20 of incubation. One egg made the tiniest pip hole, barely noticeable at first glance but its there. This happened probably 8 hours ago with no further progress.
I had (micro) managed the humidity throughout the day until I had to go to work at 3. The humidity had...
Hello!
I have been obsessively reading posts here for two months- when I began my first attempt at incubating eggs since I was a teenager (somehow had way more success then lol)
I currently have 5 chicks- 2 buffs (6 weeks), and 3 silkies (4 weeks)- that I purchased after a 0% success rate of...
It’s almost day 25 for my duck and turkey eggs. They are in the same incubator at the moment, but will be putting them in separate incubators for lockdown. Do they need different humidity’s for lockdown? Do you drop the temp a little or keep it at 99.5 Fahrenheit? I’m new to this all and thought...
So, after nog yielding an single developing egg from my first try at hatching chicks in an incubator, I decided to test my incubator's hygrometer and thermometer. I also bought a 2nd thermometer/hygrometer, intended for use in terrariums, to use alongside the ones built-in in my incubator. More...
I am getting a pre-fab coop that's made with untreated wood from Tractor Supply for three hens: https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/petmate-superior-construction-chicken-coop-70401d
I am planning on painting both exterior and interior and I would like some suggestions.
It is important to...
I bought a GQF Sportsman 1502 for hatching peafowl eggs and during my test runs here (on silkie eggs) I'm seeing a trend.
Quick hatchers (who unzip and hatch rapidly) has no issues - hatcher who slowly pip and unzip (over the course of 24 hours) are getting stuck/shrink wrapped.
The lockdown...
Ok, so yesterday I was given 6 Blue laced red wyandotte eggs to see if the rooster was doing his job. But I have eggs already in the incubator that will be hatching on the 13th. I am doing dry incubation so will the three days of 50% - 60% and then back down to 20% hurt the eggs? I have never...
Hi everyone,
This is my first time incubating eggs, and sadly out of the 12, only 1 was fertilized and made it this far. We are on day 19, but the photo shows the air cell markings from day 18, just before I took the turner out of the incubator. I ran the incubator with much too high of humidity...
Hi all,
I’m currently mid duckling hatch, we’re well experienced with chickens but this is our first attempt at hatching ducklings.
I set 10 duck eggs at the start of the month, they all started wiggling and moving around day 22. Today is day 29 and so far we’ve had 6 successfully pip and...
@BrinseaUS hi my incubator is forming salt on the little water passage plastic which is stopping the water from passing and making huge humidity changes... how can i fix this?
