It’s party in the incubator with 30+ new arrivals!! These are primarily Olive egger babies, but it looks like a levender Orpington or two might have snuck in!!
This is my attempt at building a incubator. I am using a VFD enclosure that was going to be trashed. So far I have welded up the holes where the power was run to and from it. I also welded up the fan openings on the back and top that were used to cool off the internals. I cut the openings to...
I purchased a incubator last year that did a okay job but I am thinking about building one this year. A few questions I have. What are the best materials as far a a container to build it out of? Can you have to much air circulation inside of the incubator? What is a good heat source besides a...
Chicks that are hatched inside an incubator must stay inside the incubator for a couple of days. Don’t get too excited to take them out. Give them some time to realize that they are already hatchlings and have to cope with their environment. Birds like quails, pheasants and chickens can survive...
After the successful trial of my homemade Incubator now am trying my luck with 38 Eggs. But looks like I did a mistake by wrapping the incubator with aluminum foil from inside, as a result of that temperature is getting high even if I lower the voltage and it also loses heat very quickly
I have 3 silkie hens and they are laying like crazy right now. I know, crazy with the cold but either way they are. It's killing me putting these eggs in the fridge so I'm saving about 5 days worth at a time and sticking them in my Hovabator. I want to keep adding eggs each week, but eventually...
Just had a baby quail hatch out and it was taking a long time. External pip in pm on day 16, hatched early day 18. It looks like it's anus was stuck to the shell or too dry and ripped out out him. He now has two "butt cheeks" sticking out of him. No blood. Any suggestions? Attached pictures.
Hi, i got a janoel 12, i already fix the temperature CA (was 1.6 C° off), now if i pour 100 ml of water every 2 days it will always be at 75% humidity, so i started trying just adding 20 ml of water and after 21 hours it goes from 72% (when i poured it) to 38% (after 21 hours at 32C° outside)...
November isn’t the best time to be hatching but this mama is broody hahaha
This is my third attempt
Our first attempt at this little incubator was with some eggs collected after a frost. They could have been polish eggs, Orpington eggs or sexlinks. Although it’s not freezing in our barn or...
After are mama hen snuck in with the boys I now have a egg to incubate. But it won't get to 100F. This old incubator was used to hatch are two baby turkeys Becky and Pecky so I know it works ? But now it won't get to 100F. I also had it running all night?
hey everyone
We recently purchased a small incubator able to hold and hatch 9 eggs at a time. It has a fan and temp control. I bought a humidor (?) but am having a hard time holding the proper humidity. It’s either too high or too low. Any tips! Hind sight. I should have purchased one with temp...
I'm using a janoel 12 incubator and on day 26 trying to hatch my duck eggs. I checked the humidity last night and it was fine at 70%.
I just checked it again and it was down to 50%. So I added warm water to the bottom.
I can't seem to get it to stay up.
What do I need to do?!
