I have a silkie that hatched yesterday. Got it in a brooder and it seemed fine, running around, pecking at feed, ect. 4 hours later I come home from work and it can't walk. It will move its legs above its head but can't keep balance. I can still get it to eat and drink.
Can't seem to imbed...
I went out to watch my ducklings today, and I noticed one was injured. But I dont know how to wrap it. We know how to treate it, but is there a good way to wrap it???
We have a chicken who we believe was born with this problem. One leg will go completely backwards and she hobbles around. Any ideas what to do? (Sorry for the vertical video. I didn't take it!)
One of my chickens appears to have a bit of a limp and seems to be resting more. She even let me catch her and pick her up easily which she usually doesn’t really do so I’m a little bit worried.
I just noticed it when I let them out to free range a couple hours ago.
At first she seemed fine...
Hello, i have 3 chickens. They are around 18 weeks old. 2 coronation sussex and one feverolle bantom.
Babs, my dominant sussex, may be a rooster we arent sure yet but since we had her she had some kind of leg issue. We got them at 8 weeks and she immediately developed a respiratory illness...
I went outside around 45 minutes ago to go lock up my chickens, ducks, and geese. However, I didn't see my geese anywhere in the fence. I locked up everyone else, and then I seen the geese over near the far end of the fence. My female, Sniper, was laying down, and my gander was watching over...
We let our 16 week old hens free range today and one of our Easter Egger hens is now not standing on one of her legs. She tries to use it when she walks and gets around but, mostly sits around. I picked her up and felt her bones. Nothing obviously broken, no bumble foot, no blood, no missing...
Hey gang! I hatched some silkies on Sunday. One of the chicks needed to be assisted during the hatch and has had some issues. At first, it was expected weakness and flopping around. The chick was standing on both feet until last night. It's not putting any weight on one of its feet and holds...
Sadly, I think my sweet, 6mo polish chicken, Big Bird (BB) suffered a fracture to her hock and an injury to her tendon last Friday, and there appears to be a little nerve damage as well but still good circulation. Twice I've taken her to the vet to be put down (my husband is attached to this...
Hello, I'm here for some advice. I'm visiting my grandparents 6+ hours away from home, and of course it had to happen while I'm away, but my family is working on introducing a dog, and he got a hold of one of my ducks, Ruth. My mother is reporting many times a day, but she and I are both new to...
I work at a pond in NY where lots of ducks live, and they like to come up and visit and maybe get a handful of cracked corn, but two days ago one of the ducklings that comes with it's mother and siblings has started limping and walking on what I think is called it's "hock"? It can still swim but...
Hello everyone. Today I’m seeking some advice about one of my pullets. She has a bad leg. But first some background info. When she was a chick, she got what we think was a slipped tendon at about 1 week. I put her in a chick chair for a few days, and when she came out it looked perfectly normal...
I'm not sure what happened to this gal but she's been limping for a week. She's still eating and drinking plus moving around during the day. Until last night she had been going up the ladder to her roost. Last night she was at the bottom of the ladder sleeping so I moved her to be with the...
The other day I let my ducks out in the tall grass, but my dog got out and jumped on one of my ducks. She now has an injured leg. She could walk fine the day it happened and could walk the day after, but since then it has been getting worse. I would put her in her pool to get some weight off of...
Well this morning has been crazy in chicken terms:th I woke up to a presumed case of leg mites with the big girls, and an issue with one of my new chicks. She’s three days old, and she’s limping pretty heavily. Still getting around fine, but she definitely can’t put much weight on it. When she...
I'm having an issue with my favorite little Silkie chick (why does it always have to be the faves!). I've had him for a week, drove 3 hrs to get them from a reputable breeder that I've used before and while with its mama, he walked fine. Once we got home and I put them in their new home/brooder...
We have a Speckled Sussex that has been recovering inside from a Vitamin B deficiency (pretty sure as she had curled toes and stopped walking, then improved over time with Poly-vi-Sol)
She is doing a lot better than she was but is not fully healed. It's been a couple of months. She still limps...
My 9 week old gander has an odd knee buckle while standing that I noticed about a week ago. I've checked his legs and feet and all seems normal. It is pretty much constant, and doesn't seem to effect him in any sort of way regarding mobility. Just concerns me and want to make sure it is nothing.
Have a new born Moulted Java chick 20 hours old.
Not exactly sure of the cause, if it is deformation or injury from the hatch.

The poor little guy is spunky and full of life but can't stand on one leg...
We found our duck by the pond in the morning and he was all bloody. He let us just walk right up to him and pick him up. We found that it appears his foot may have been attacked by a snapping turtle. One of his little toes are broken and the bleeding did stop. We have soaked his foot in epsom...
