I ordered one barred rock roo, somehow ended up with two.
I put numbers by the birds to try and help identify them.
I’m having a hard time telling these apart: Speckled Sussex, Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, Gold Laced Wyandotte, and Blue Laced Gold Wyandotte.
Which Roo should I keep? The smaller...
What gender are these silkies, and this buff Orpington? This buff has a larger comb and waddles than the other two that came with him. About 16 weeks old (all of them).
Hello, got another silkie I need help with sexing please. I know silkies are hard to sex but would appreciate peoples opinions. Not sure about this one at all because of the comb. He/she is about 3/4 months old. Roo or hen?
Hatched 3/23/21. Easter egger roo. Nashville TN Area. I do not have space for 2 roosters and he will be too big for the brooder soon. The lady that was supposed to take him ghosted me.
Hello, I'm new to the silkie world and would like help on sexing them please. Also what colouring would you say they are.
-First one: Black with silver collar is 8 months old. Hen or rooster and what colour please.
-Second one: Grey and is 4 months old. Hen or rooster and what colour please...
I adopted this lovely rooster today. He looks like my Easter egger mixed with something. Gorgeous green in his tail feathers with a rainbow sheen in the light. Any idea what kind of mix he might be?
Hey guys! 👋🏻
I have anywhere from 8-10 week old Easter Egger. She/he is starting to make me think that it may be a roo. It’s neck feathers and and the tail feathers are long and sharp. It has a wing that comes up on its back as well. I am also wondering if it is developing crooked beak. It’s...

I have a roughly 10 wk old cochin chick,
I am stumped on gender, they're much smaller than the other chicks and a slow growth rate. I'm starting to wonder if they're a bantam breed?
I'm pretty sure this is a roo. Out of all 4 of my cochin bantams this is the only one that has developed a wattle and has a larger comb! Is it common for bantams to start showing those signs this early? (3 weeks old)
First 2 pics is our suspected roo.
The others I think are hens. Maybe too...
Hey! I purchased three silkie hens a year ago, I was under the impression they where all hens, but recently I have become curious as to the sex of one of them, she/he has an almost entirely different body shape to the other two, doesn’t brood as the other two do, and is vastly more vocal. I know...
Here on today’s edition of “Hen or Roo?”, we have a pair of 7 week -old Ayem Cemanis. They were sold to me as a pair of pullets, but I’m thinking one is a cockerel. One was hatched about 5 days after the other, so she’s a bit smaller. But she’s always had a tiny little comb and is very timid...
I have a gorgeous fluffy white silkie boy free to a good home. My area doesn't allow roosters so I'm trying to rehome him quickly. He's a nice guy, friendly and nice to everyone. He was hatched by a local NPIP breeder around XMas. I'm located just outside of Boston.
Hi all, so wondering if anyone can tell at this point. This is my little maran, I'm thinking it's actually a roo? What fo you all think or is it still too early?
Hi all, I'm new here and my chicks are about 4 weeks today. One of my little ones my Maran (which I think may be a roo not sure) sneezes every so often. He eating, drinking, active, happy just notice a small little sneeze every so often. Should I be worry ? There is no ocular or nasal...
This little chickie seems more bold than the rest. Jumps at me and pecks at me and chest bumps the other chicks. Won't run away when I reach for him/her (which is nice because my kids & I like to hold them). Is it too early to tell if a roo? It is one of 12 chicks of various breeds including 4...
Hi! New chicken owners here. We just got these three lovely chickens sold as 16 weeks / 4 month old pullets, two wyandottes and one sussex.
I am worried the black one might be a rooster. She is very brave and curious, food motivated and top of the pecking order.
Her tail seems longer than...
