Not really. The Missouri fox trotter walks with it's front legs and trots with it's hind, creating a very smooth ride. Peruvian horses trace a straight line with their back legs, one in front of the other, and swing their forelegs outward in a motion that looks like a swimmers arms. Don't ask me how they do it, because I have no idea. The feeling is instead of bouncing you, it rolls your stomach and back, which is much more comfy. Gaited horses also usually have faster general gaits than most horses.

Oh....I just had the hardest horse lesson today. Why is the horse stubborn? It's so hard to not kick or whip the horse out of anger. I never do, but it's still tempting. And this horse I hadn't ridden for a couple weeks was being really testy.

Ugh, hate that.

My mare is so crabby at the beginning, and refuses to go any faster than a trot for 3 strides (

), and by the time I get her to, she tries to flat-out bolt with me. *Sigh* I need to work with her on that.

Good news: Starting Hunter/Jumper this or next weekend!

*Sighs dreamily* There's nothing better than a nice ride after the most stressfull week if my life.
