Sunstar crept among the thick tree branches, his bright white and fire colored fur was suited much more for the day but oddly enough he preferred the night much more.

~Hazelpaw skulked along not far behind her leader and let every sense fall into the mode of perfected concentration. Her ginger pelt actually began to blend in perfectly with the sunset-aligned bracken and she felt with satisfaction her sturdy muscles falling into the automatic stalk of a hunting warrior.~

Sunstar was listening closely to the sound of the settling forest and then he heard it, the swoosh sound of a powerful wing beats deep in the territory. He silently stalked his way swiftly among the trees to the sound.

Sunstar launched a paw out ,his sharp claws extended and making it's mark into a barn owl's neck. The owl dragged he across the branch a bit before Sunstar brought it crashing to slightly lower branch, he was clinging desperately to owl's back, his hind legs dug into one it's wing and his claws and fangs gripped into the prey's neck.

The owl dragged he across the branch a bit before Sunstar brought it crashing to slightly lower branch, he was clinging desperately to owl's back, his hind legs dug into one it's wing and his claws and fangs gripped into the prey's neck.

~Hazelpaw gave a powerful thrust of her back legs and was beside Sunstar in an instant. Thinking quickly, she thrust her jaws into the owl's loose, flapping wing and pinned the writhing bird down against the branch so Sunstar could finish it off.~

Sunstar sunk his fangs even further into the bird's neck, it struggled in vain for a few long moments before it finally went limp. Sunstar let go of the bird and looked down at it's talons, happy to see a plump mouse clenched in them "Good job Hazelpaw, that was great timing." He praised before adding "We got real lucky with this catch, we got two pieces of prey and we didn't get hit by it's talons thanks to that mouse"
