~«Survival By War»~ (Warrior cat rp)

Snakepaw snorted "A blind crab could catch such a pathetic minnow, you should hunt at the waterfall sometimes, I bet even you could catch something bigger! Like that's what I'm talking about, you just need to work for it, respect and ability isn't going to be handed to you, especially not by Moon or Two-Face." He stated surely as they made it to the bank of Bird Foot Lake, he glanced towards the camp and shook his head "Let's move closer to Warming Shore, there's a grove of willow trees around there where we can train peacefully."
"I can't swim, remember?! How am I supposed to catch anything when I can't swim properly?" Silverkit picked up the pace keep up with him, glancing around. A leaf was playing in the wind, swirling and bouncing. She itched to go after it, but knew that Snakepaw would scold her for being childish and distracted, so she followed him quietly.

"You don't need to swim when hunting at the waterfall in front of camp, ya just need a fast strike and strong claws to yank the fish out" Snakepaw noted, a distant fond memory of hunting with his brothers when they were kits came to his mind but he quickly shook it away. He spoke about a lot of the territory as the walked, he was just absentmindedly noting cool trees and streams till they arrived at the grove of willows he had talked about. "Alrighty, we're here."

Silverkit followed him, her head low. By the time she got to the grove, her legs ached. She nodded at his words, the sun bursting from the trees, the bright light momentarily blinding her. "Wolfkit and Brightkit are gonna be so surprised when I beat them in play-fighting!"

Snakepaw watched her carefully as he sunk low to the ground "Yeah well, don't show off too much or we'll get in trouble. Now first let's start with you just attacking me, I have to know what I'm working with." He told her, his usual deadpan seriousness back in his voice.

For a lithe little cat like you, speed will be your best friend. Remember, your key is to unbalance them, and if you're quick enough, you'll succeed. Moon's words echoed in Silverkit's head, and her eyes narrowed, watching him. She sank low, letting her legs stretch long and belly almost touch the ground, her eyes never leaving his as she studied him closely, judging her best bet for attack. Suddenly, without a single warning, she shot forward like adder, and with a swift bound she was in the air, praying for the split second that she would land on him, and not on the ground.

Snakepaw was quick and sidestepped her attack, causing Silverkit to sloppily land and then slip off his side as there wasn't really anything she could grasp. He shook his head as he started to circle her closely "Being fast is fine, I know that's what you have to aim for but leaping from that for away can make it clear on what your goal is, next time keep the speed but try not to leap so soon and you should go more for the face as that would most likely stun an opponent for a second."

Silverkit yelped as she hit the ground, letting out a stream of curses her mother would most certaintly scold her for. She scrambled to her paws, shaking her pelt furiously. "Right," she muttered, shaking her throbbing leg, trying to rid herself of the ache. "I'll get it right this time, I promise!"

Snakepaw nodded to her before repositioning himself in a defensive position "Now when you attack an opponent's face, remember that they can bite back and their claws are only a sharp swipe away so don't linger too long, you want to keep on your toes and you want to be able to leap back and dodge."

Silverkit nodded, her eyes gleaming as she dropped down. She slunk around to face him, and dashed forward, stopping almost as quickly. She reared on unsteady legs, batting furiously at his head with sheathed paws. She stumbled back, dropping onto four paws. She shrieked when his paw lashed out at her, and she twisted sharply to avoid him. Her tail lashed furiously, her eyes gleaming. "Now what?" She panted.

Snakepaw huffed and swiped a quick paw over his ears, smoothing any fur Silverkit might have disrupted with her strikes. "You have to be more fluid, you were unsure and stumbled. Also when moving back, add a sidestep so you can aim for another attack on your opponents side, you wanna keep a flow." He instructed, glancing at the sun to keep check on the time.
