«We Could Be Legends»

"Do you want anything to drink?" River asked politely.

"Hmm..." Lachlan shifted, into a bobcat. He shifted back. "Wrong skin." He gave a sneaky look, and shifted again, this time into a wolf. He stayed in it for mere seconds before shifting back. "Sorry, couldn't help myself."
He paused as she mentioned the boy. "Oh man, is he alive?"
"No," Sherri pursed her lips.
Wolfram snarled, his teeth forming into fangs, cat ears forming and a thick fluffy tail. He had shifted into a cat. He dropped onto his fourpaws, and lept up, sinking his teeth into her leg, snarling.
"Ha!" Sherri said. "Bet you wish you had a stronger power. Us cats are weak because of size. Just like a baby attacking you. Jessi, forget the ferocity and grab him by the scruff. Cats are prone when they are held!" She tried to stifle her laughter, tail twitching.
"Ack, stupid cat." Toby growled, dropping Wolf. His hand reached to his face. When he moved it he had blood on his hand. He turned to River. "Mrs. Loson, I'm really sorry about what happened. Jessi and I will leave before we cause more damage. Come on Jess." Toby said and grabbed her arm. No blood had gotten anywhere, since Jessi was covering he wound with her hand. "Again, I'm sorry." Toby apologized again. He dragged her into the car. "What were you thinking?! Have you lost brain cells? You know, sometimes I forget you're related to Rex, and every time I do you prove me wrong by doing something stupid." Toby yelled at her once she closed the car door.
"Don't leave, it's not your fault! It's kinda his fault!" Sherri said.
Emily raised an eyebrow. Maybe we should leave this juvenile delinquent to fight without us standing in the middle.
Sherri dilated her pupils and sadly pursed her lips. Can I stay? Please?

"C'mon Toby, can't we stay for just a little while longer?" Jessi pleaded. She looked from Toby to Sherri. Toby hesitated. "Fine. Only if it's okay with mrs. Loson. But if there's even a small chance of a fight, we're leaving. I'll be waiting in the car." Toby said. "Yes! Thank you!" Jessi said and hugged him. She got out of car and walked up to the front door.

She quickly typed back ** still at the park. I'll come to you.**
"Okay."
"Sure, I'll come." She said, blinking as her eyes adjusted to the dark. She pulled out her phone and texted her mom, **Heading to Aunt River's house. I'll probably be home soon. Ly!** "How close is it?" She asked Alice, jumping up on her hoverboard.
"not too far, there's a path through the park that leads to their road." Alice lead the way. They made it to River's house within about ten minutes.

River turned her head from Bleddyn to the two approaching girls. "Hey, Alice, Brisa."

"As far as I know, everyone is okay. I'm slightly worried about Bleddyn, they weren't direct in saying if she was okay. But I think she is, or Lachlan would be flipping." River said. "What about you, you okay?"

River trotted to the door. Might help if I actually shifted into a human. She thought annoyed with herself, and quickly shifted and opened the door. "Bleddyn. Nice to see you are alive after those fights... and hopefully didn't kill anyone getting here." She said, her eyes widening as she saw the crashed dirt bike, and looked back to Bleddyn, her face normal again. "Come on in."

Wolfram hissed, snarling, spitting and hissing violently he lashed out, snagging a claw against Toby's face, and struggled, jumping down. Loud yowling and hisses came from him as he glared up at Jessi and Toby. Another yowl of anger, and he stomped out of the open door in anger. Wait....there Wasnt a dirt bike in the bushes before, was there? He trotted over, sniffing the ground. He meowed loudly.Bleddyn? He shifted into a human."Bleddyn?"He rasped, his voice horse from yowling at Jessi.

"Yeah, I'm-" Suddenly her brow knitted hard in sudden discomfort. "B-bathro.." That's all she managed to get out before her mouth tensed and instinctively locked. She dove past River, skidded wildly for a moment as she tried to gain traction on the slippery laminate, and barreled down the hallway she knew by heart.
The house shook with the force that she violently slammed the bathroom door shut with.

River, who now felt as though her head swiveled every second, flicked her gaze to Jessi. "I'm sorry, I had meant to tell you, you could stay, but I was kind of preoccupied. If you two are leaving because of um, the wolf-cat thing, you don't have to. He seems to do that kind of thing... A lot."

River kept smiling at Jessi, Alice, and Brisa as the sick teen dove past her, hardly batting a lash as Bleddyn raced up the stairs. "That's... Normal... For her at least. Jessi, I see why your brother is too afraid of us to come in."

"Umm. Normal? She do drugs?" Sherri looked a bit concerned, mirroring her mother exactly.

"No." Lachlan and River said at the same time, and Lachlan nearly exploded with laughter. "She always makes herself sick to the stomach from doing crazy things. Like crashing a dirt bike into bushes at seventy miles an hour just now." Lachlan said.

"Thanks aunt River." Jessi said and watched Bleddyn run into the bathroom. "I don't think he's scared of you guys, he's just really antisocial." She said and glanced at Toby, who was now playing on his phone with Alpha resting his head on Toby's shoulder. "He doesn't seem to understand that people need other people to function properly."

"Oh," Sherri said, acting as if this made her feel better.
Emily was wondering what kind of friends her daughter had. Brisa seemed so, normal.
