River flicked her gaze to Lachlan, and gave the ever slightest nod so Tayn and Mikki wouldn't see.
Lachlan turned to Bleddyn. "Yeah, of course you can." He said quickly.
Emily still didn't know what happened. "Umm, River? What happened to her?"
Alice looked up at him concern on her face maybe they should take her to the hospital. Dyn didnt like it there though.
She hadnt told her parents she was feeling so awful. And didnt want them to know so the hospital was out. Alice had never healed twice in the same day before, but the thought of trying made her aware of the dull head ache that had started back at the park. Besides so far Dyn wasnt aware of her powers, and she'd like to leave it that way.
"They just showed up?" Mikki brushed past and used her telekenesis to lift Brisa up.
"I have to go to work soon, i'll get my kids out of here. Want help getting the rest to leave?"
(Im not really sure. Bleddyn/Dyn is sick and injured she was hit with a sleeping dart at the park and its making her sick. )
"The fight from earlier that I told you about is probably some of it, and a lot is probably from crashing a dirt bike into my front yard."
"Oh. Why can't her parents know about it? And either way, in the living room with a crowd around her is not the place to be. Give her a room and a bed at least," Emily. "With no one, especially not my daughter or that Cat-boy."
"Yeah, they did. I think Lachlan told some they could come over and the rest decided to tag along." River said. "That would be best, probably. Wolfram is staying here a couple nights, he's Silver Martindale's son, by the way, he's not just a random kid I collected. Bleddyn looks like she's staying until she gets her guts together and can walk or her mom picks her up. But the rest need to get back home to their parents before they skin me."
"We don't know, we're staying out of her parents role." Lachlan said for his mother, who looked like she may die from so many people talking to her. "And we're gonna do that, once she can actually walk." He snapped. "And his name is Wolfram."
"Hmm. Silver's son. I didn't know her very well, but Ash has always been very nice to me," Emily said, unfazed by his snappy attitude.
Emily walked back into the kitchen and got put the frozen veggies and set them on the counter, patiently waiting for River to give her permission to cook them. She decided to wash the dishes to pass the time. Rather, awkwardly.
"Alright every body." Tayn said confidently as she stepped into the livingroom. "Time to head home." She spotted the papers on the coffee table, "what ever it is you're working on can wait until tomorrow. It's supper time. Anyone who hasnt been invited to stay," she paused a small smile creeping across her face. "Get out."
Lachlan picked up the papers, putting them back in the folders before Tayn could get a good look at them and holding them tightly. "Well, looks like we're doing our project tomorrow, everyone."
"Thanks, Tayn." River said with a sigh. "That was a lot of kids." She muttered under her breath, coming up beside Tayn.
Camilla rolled her eyes, walking past her mom. "Bye Lach, Aunt Riv, Wolf-Raven." She said, walking out, getting into her mother's car, and hopping into the front passenger seat. Putting some notes of the Pure in her pocket, she put her seat belt on. "Guess you're in the back, Alice."
Peter got up quickly, thankful for the excuse. He went over to Grace, standing near her and trying very hard not to be noticed.
That was... weird. Grace thought, watching the new girl go poof. She rubbed one of her eyes, willing the black spots to go away. She could feel the start of a headache, probably from that stupid dart.
Peter started edging toward the door. Grace shot him a glare. "How are we going to get home?" She said under her breath. Peter shrugged.
Grace was momentarily distracted by that girl again. She just left...?
Zion takes off into the sky, the higher he soars the colder the rain seemed. He made sure to carefully cover his sister while he flew to keep her from getting wet. He ignores his shivering for the sake of being strong and keeps on flying, eventually, he reaches Lachlan's house and lands on the ground, his heels clicking on the cement. He steps towards the door and swallows his nerve, then raps on the door with his knuckles.
"Uh hello? Is anyone there? Its Delilah and her brother Zion..."
River opened the door tiredly. "Oh hey, Zion, Delilah." She said, nodding in greeting to the eagle-shifter and fox-shifter. "I guess you've come to join the mayhem. Everyone was just leaving, but come on in."
(Last post, I promise.)
Pinekit returned from his outing into the woods to find Swampkit still being bothered by the apprentice. So, as it was his nature, he trotted up to them and put on a façade of cheerful friendliness, "Because she's a psychopath."
(If he's not accepted, then ignore this.)
Wolfram sat on the couch silently, sitting on the same couch as Bleddyn. He leaned against the arm of the couch, his gaze flickering over Bleddyn worriedly. She'll pull through. She got shot with a dart and crashed a dirt bike, and is still conscious. She'll be fine, she'll be FINE! He got up, slowly, not to disturb Bleddyn, and walked over to the table. He picked up the paper with the article about his mother, reading it carefully.
WOMAN CAPTURED BY MASKED MEN.
His eyes darkened, and one hand clenched into a fist. He could punch something right about now... "Rrragh!"He snarled loudly, throwing the papers on the table again. His eyes narrowed in frusterion, and he lifted a foot, about to slam it into the wall. But, he Didnt. Better not...River would kill me. Every emotion swam inside him as he leaned against the wall, a enraged look on his face. Like, a touch-me-I-kill-you look. He was so confuesed about the key, and Mapleshade, The Pure, his mother, Her getting captured, Bleddyn... He was only dimly aware of the few people around him, there voices muted, he only heard mumbling. His eyes where locked on that paper, his nails digging into his hand, blood started welling around his nails, trickling down his hand, going unnoticed to Wolfram.
(Wall touches him. Jk)
Sherri looked concerned.
She didn't really want to talk to him right now, he looked like he would hurt her, but she couldn't help but point out. "Uh, Wolf, you're bleeding. Are you ok?"
Wolfram's head jerked up quickly, as if he had been snapped out of a trance. He looked as if he was going to snarl something, when he paused. Something warm, red...sticky, trickled down his hand. His skin was pale, the crimson red liquid glittering brightly against the cold, pale skin. Four marks where bleeding where he had dug his nails into his skin. His pupils narrowed. There was only one sensible thing to do.
So he did it.
In one swift movement, he whirled around, slammed his bleeding hand into the wall as hard as possible, not even a second later a shriek of pain echoing in the house.
Not the most sensible thing to do, thought Sherri.
That boy is so afraid of blood he punches a hole in the wall? Yikes. Don't say anything.
Emily quietly departed and told River what had just happened. @RiverStorm
Lachlan's head snapped around, wincing. Oh boy, here we go. He edged closer. I don't want to make him more upset... "I... I'm sorry about everything that's been happening to you, man."
Wolfram slowly turned to face him, half way hunched over. He hand his hand close to his chest, breathing heavily. He looked up at Lachlan, a glare in eyes. He looked like he could defintally kill someone. Like, right now. He Didnt move, just stayed hunched over, holding his injured hand."...nothing is going to be right again. I can feel it. Everything's going to change and there is nothing we can do to stop it."His voice was scarcely a whisper, his voice raspy and anger, but also underneath is sounded weak and vulnerable.
Lachlan began to say something, but his mother stepped forward, glancing at him and he shut his mouth, backing away.
River turned to Wolfram. "How is your hand?" She said kindly, crossing her arms.
Wolfram hissed, backing against the wall. He coiled up like a snake, threateningly. His hand ached. He didn't know if it was broken or not. But it ached, it pulsed rapidly, the pain making him dizzy. He glared at River, then let his body relax. She had let him stay at her house, and she could kick him out at anytime."Fine."He mumbled, almost wanting to punch something again out of sheer frusteration.
River raised an eyebrow. "Good. There's a punching dummy in storage if you want, or the wall could do." She winced. "That... Wasn't funny, sorry." She sighed. "I know no one understands what you are going through, but I know close enough. And I know right now you don't know if you should cry or strangle something. I'm sorry that these people put you through this." She paused. "I can show you to the guest bed room if you want to put your backpack up, and if you give me your dirty clothes, I'll wash them."
Wolfram leaned against the wall, his anger simmering down, only a bit, though."You couldn't be more right...."He sighed, flexing his injured hand slowly. It Wasnt broken, thankfully."I guess..."He mumbled half-heartedly, shrugging. He didn't care at this point. He glanced at Bleddyn for a minute, a glimmer of hope flickering in his eyes.No...He looked away quickly, hoping River didn't see. He wouldn't let himself fall for anyone, ANYONE! He wasn't that weak. Or are you?
"If you shift, is your paw uninjured?" Sherri asked. "I know some shifters can do that, I personally can't, but some can..."
Wolfram hissed at her."I don't know, idiot! It takes to much energy for me to shift right now anyway."He hissed.
Sherri shrugged apologetically. She had never lost energy in shifting. She also had no good abilities for fighting, like claws. She was glad for that now, considering Wolfram had accidentally cut himself very deeply.
"This way." River said, turning around and walking up the stairs. She walked down the hall and opened a white door. "This is the guest bedroom."
"Thanks River."Wolfram threw his backpack, which he had picked up on the way to the bedroom, onto the bed. He glanced at River, torn between curling up and sobbing, or strangling something to death. He pulled the note from his mother out of the bag."Why is Mapleshade like this?! What is driving her? What is making her so bloodthirsty she would go as far as killing her own friends son?" He looked at River, knowing she couldn't answer those questions."And who exactly killed my mother?"
Sherri heard it with her great hearing abilities and accidentally blurted. "I'd do it if it didn't mean death for me." She hoped Wolf hadn't heard her.
Bleddyn sat up after Wolfram tramped upstairs cloaked with a dangerous internal turbulence. She looked at Sherri and Lachlan, relieved to find that her brain was accepting them in fairly decent focus. "Guess I missed some stuff." Her voice was a warbling croak, sucked dry by the dehydration she'd let take ahold of her battered system.River bit her lip. She didn't know the answers, she was truly as confused as he was. "I don't know the answers to those questions, Silver was always so kind to me... Always excepted me. I don't understand how anyone could hurt her." She paused. "But I think power drives Mapleshade. Something like that... Revenge, I don't know. I don't know who killed your mother, Wolf. I would think the Pure. Whoever they are..."
Emily seemed to be tuning into their conversation frequently enough that it'd probably be wise not to spill too much.
There didn't seem to be too many displaced teens left, so it probably wouldn't be rude to ask River to grant her a spare room now. But Bleddyn about to turn in and miss out on the serious developments that the atmosphere was hinting at.
Before her eyes could shoot daggers of glowering resentment at the obstacle of Sherri's mother, Bleddyn sank back behind a pillow. Infirmity couldn't be too hard to keep up for a little while longer.
