«We Could Be Legends»

Toby nodded again. "Okay." He used one hand to hold the gauze against his head, and the other hand to pull out some Neosporin. He removed the gauze and applied the Neosporin. He put clean bandages on the wound and stood up, taking a few steps back. "Are you good, or do you have any other injuries?"
Wolfram stood up slowly, holding onto the corner of the sink."No..no I'm ok, um..."He ended awkwardly, quiet for a second."Thanks. You didn't have to do that."

"Erm, I would sit back down. Or find another place to sit. You're using a lot of energy, and I don't want you to pass out. You might not wake up, and I didn't bring a defibrillator." Toby said.

"Debifil-what?"Wolfram blinked at his."Nevermind. I have to...I have to make sure Del and Bleddyn are ok first."He moved past Toby, refusing to show weakness in his walk as he made his way down the hall.

"Oh, it's like that thing that people use to restart people's- oh, and you're already gone." Toby said. He pulled of his gloves and sealed them and all the bloody gauze in a ziplock bag. He put his stuff away and grabbed Alpha's leash. He jogged after Wolfram, and watched him as they entered the waiting room.

Wolfram paused, looking at Delilah's small fox body curled in one of the waiting room chairs. Was she alive? He knelt down, looking closer. The foxes flank was rising and falling in a gentle sleep. He let out a sigh of relief he didn't know he had been holding."She's alright. But you..."He stood up slowly, turning around to look at Bleddyn."Need your leg wound re-bandaged. And do not tell me no."

Jessi walked outside and got in the car. She started the engine and waited for the others to join her.

Camilla stood by the counter for a few seconds longer, giving the man a sideways look. "Thanks." She muttered, before whirling on her heals and jogging out the door, making a disgusted face as rain immediately battered down on her. She quickly jerked the van door open, climbing into the passenger seat and slamming the door shut. "Guess we're going to a bank." She murmured quietly.

Alice slowly followed Camilla back to the van. She wanted to go home. Dyn was in trouble again. If she hadn't gotten those papers from Maryella maybe the Pure wouldn't have kidnapped them, maybe they would only have taken Wolfram.
She climbed into the van and sat next to Peter silently, lost in her thoughts.

Grace listened to the conversation, considering Tom's words carefully. She was still thinking about them when she climbed into the car. By the time she realized the others were talking, they were almost to the bank. "What?"

Peter slid in before Camilla could claim the window seat and stared at the trees and power lines that they passed.

"I don't have anyone's number." Jessi said. "Oh, we were talking about calling aunt River or Lachlan."

"Oh. Well, I have Aunt River's number, but I don't know how much we want to tell her." Brisa replied, feeling bad that she wanted to keep anything from her "aunt." "I guess we could ask her to let us talk to someone, as long as she's with them all. Hopefully she wasn't in such a hurry that she forgot her phone."

"It would be worth a shot. Maybe ask to talk to Lachlan." Jessi said.

Brisa nodded. "Okay, I'll try that." She clicked on Aunt River's face and listened to dial tone play. Please pick up. She thought. I think we're all in way over our heads. We can't do this without the others.

(It's only like 9:30 or 10 at the latest. River would have been in the middle of a firefight in a tunnel underground no signal)

**Emily and Sherri**

Det. Chapman sat in the passenger side, of the car, his morning had been busier than usual so they had missed lunch. That's where they were headed now that there seemed to be a lull in the calls. He sighed looking out his window, this day really couldn't be any longer. He had had trouble sleeping last night, after the car accident yesterday at the park.

The radio buzzed to life, a report of gun fire. He rubbed his face with his hand, and looked over to his partner who was driving Rudy looked back nodding. He sighed again, "Alirght, let's do this then." He grabbed the radio, and called in. Rudy flicked on the siren.

**Multiple police cars approach the pure base.**

As they pulled up to the tunnel entrance, Freddie spotted an older style, boat of a car pulling away in a hurry. It looked like it packed to bursting with people. He frowned at it, and grabbed a notepad scribbling down the licence plate number. Who ever they were, they were probably involved.

They waited to get out, as 2 other police cars arrived. He surveyed the area, taking note of places a person with a gun could be hiding, as well as places he could use to hide himself if needed, there were concrete barriers near the doorway to the tunnel, and a few vehicles but otherwise it was an empty parking lot.

(I don't know where Sherri and her mom are.)

Frankie stepped out of the car cautiously the icy rain pattered softly on the ground. He registered it, but ignored it, straining his ears to listen for any other sounds.

Emily saw them. She decided to do the responsible adult citizen thingie. She approached slowly and calmly.
Sherri didn't know what to do.

Sudden movement from behind the truck caught his attention. A woman with reddish-blond hair strode toward him with a calm determined look on her face. He tensed staring at her, or maybe she was a distraction. Freddie glanced around the parking lot for any other signs of movement, while still watching to see if this woman would make a move to attack him.

"Stay back." He said loudly, in a calm and forceful voice.

"I know you! Fredddddieeeeee!" She ran towards the dude.

A second person darted out from behind the truck running straight for him and yelling. Freddie grabbed his gun from it's holster and trained it on the young girl. Rudy yelled from behind him. "Put your hands above your head and get down on the ground!"

"Then I'm going to do exactly the opposite of that, as usual, and tell you no," Bleddyn retorted automatically, mouth trying to twitch into a bitter smirk. The sight of a visibly improved Delilah might've been influencing her mood a bit too much.
The next series of uncertain sentences that came out of her mouth were entirely unorthodox for her.
"But, seriously, what do you think? Should I go in there and get fixed up? You may not have an issue, being you're staying at River's..but my parents...it'd be ideal if they didn't know anything right now."
...
Did
Did you
Did you just
Did you just ask his opinion?

Bleddyn blinked stupidly for a couple seconds, trying to figure if those words had actually been hers, then briskly strode past him down the hall of patient rooms. "Nevermind, yeah, I'm going to see exactly what these healers can erase."
I need to die right now and cleanse myself of whatever just happened.

Frosty marched into the room, his feathers wet. He shook himself indignantly and looked up at Indigo. "No tracking devices on your car, Alan, and there appears to be a suspicious absence of murderous Purists." He muttered begrudgingly. "Which means you're either very lucky or the Purists are a lot more stupid than we originally thought."
"Or... they were just chased from the base and have no time to follow us right now," Indigo put her hands on her hips.
Wolfram winced at the pressure, but didn't complain."Um...not really. I hate stitches..."He folded his arms, making sure the undersides where out of view to anyone.
(He's very picky. He doesn't want to be healed painlessly and immediately, but he also doesn't want stitches.)

Sherri saw yet another gun and screamed a very high pitched scream. She didn't want to be nearly shot again. She and Emily obeyed the man's orders.

"Or... they were just chased from the base and have no time to follow us right now," Indigo put her hands on her hips.
Frosty snorted. "You and a bunch of kids making a whole base of Purists run for their lives? I doubt it." He looked around and, for the first time, noticed Leona. His eyes widened slightly. These kids must be more important than I thought.
