«We Could Be Legends»

Kill them. Kill them all, before they hurt us. Toby slowly reached down and pulled his knife out of his pocket. He held it by his side, waiting for the right moment to attack. Jessi saw that, and grabbed one of the glass plates. "Toby, I hate to do this, I'm so sorry." She said. He turned around just in time to see her smash the plate over his head. He fell to the ground. "Next person to hurt anyone else in my house is going to get a plate smashed on their head. If you're going to fight, take it outside." Jessi snarled. She watched as the shadows slowly disappeared.
Wolfram growled at her."I can do whatever I like, Dragongirl. Unless, if you can answer me one question, I'll stop fighting: Is Bleddyn here?"

"Not in my house. Yes, Bleddyn is upstairs in the bathroom." Jessi said, picking up Toby.
Wolfram's heart lurched unexpectedly. Bleddyn's here?! Wait...why am I excited to see her? She up and left us....But I can't help but want to see her again.... "C-cool."He stuttered.

Jessi raised an eyebrow. "Go talk to her, make sure she's okay." She said. "I'm taking him upstairs, if you guys are fighting again when I get back down you guys are all getting plates, and there won't be any pizza on it." She walked upstairs and into Toby's old bedroom. She laid him on the bed and walked back downstairs.

Wolfram staggered against the wall, clutching his jaw. He let out a soft groan of pain, but his eyes held nothing but rage."Nothing good from me?"He rasped."You try finding your mother dead, you try living my life, then you would understand why it's so hard."He growled."I risked my life to save Bleddyn. I could have gotten killed. I knew that, But I did it anyway! You know why, River? Because I care! I care about her, I care about Lachlan, and God forbid it but I care about you to! And when it would come down to it I wouldn't think twice about giving my life to save you.
I'm not heartless, River. I'm just grieving, and it's hard to stay kind and calm when I'm around a bunch of people I don't know!"He paused, gasping for breath."So next time why don't you think twice about judging me, put yourself in my place before you say something like that, maybe you would understand! And River, I would never lay a finger on your son! I care to much about him to do that."
River glowered at him. "Oh, but I have been in your place. I've seen my friends at my feet, their pulses nonexistent. I've seen both my parents murdered in-front of my face, and the only reason I'm alive? I'm a coward. I ran. I don't know half your story, so maybe you've been through worse. But we've both been through horrid things." Her face changed, and she stepped back, freeing Wolfram. "And I'm grateful that you saved Bleddyn. If any of them-- my sons or my nieces, died, you have no idea what I'd tare in my rage." Her eyes flickered to a still sobbing Alice, before meeting Wolfram's gaze once more with her bright blue eyes. "But understand this, I hardly know you, and all I see is my friend's son become friends with my son, and repeatedly snarl at everyone he meets, including my sons. I see this boy hurt, so I offer my house to him, and later all he does is snap at things and punch random objects. I see him call people names. I see him say he wants to die, and I don't want my sons around things like that, things I've seen and hope they never do. Then I see him threaten my friend's son and say he'd kill him. I see him snarl something that sounded like a threat to my son. Think about it. Wouldn't you be worried? Thank you for caring for my family. But my word kid! You've got a listen of things stamped on your tail." She said, tilting her head at him ever-so slightly. "I'm sorry about the things that happened to you. And we care about you too, just, don't go threatening people while you expect me to turn the other way. Because I won't. I see my son has already decided that he'd take bullet or knife for you, die for you. And it seems however much I may be annoyed with your stupid mouth I've found loyalty to you too, kid."

Wolfram hardly heard River's words."Whatever. I'm going to check on Bleddyn."He shoved past her, not even caring that she was still blabbering on. He darted up the stairs, going down the hall. There was only one closed door, and he assumed it was the bathroom. Taking a deep breath, he raised a hand, gently knocking in the door."Uh, um...Bleddyn? It's um...Dogsheep. Jessi told me to see if you where alright."

Bleddyn had her back pressed to the bathroom door, ready to become a human doorjam if for some reason the lock decided to yield to an intruder. Audible commotion had broken out downstairs; it didn't take a genius to realize the awaited bruised crew had arrived.

Which meant Wolfram was here.

But according to her enamored nostrils, so was pizza.
And pizza was pretty dang irresistible .

Internally conflicted beyond toleration, she opened up her call log and tapped on Finlay's icon until she was delivered at their very dormant text chat. She typed up a message, pleased to find her pruney fingers had finally returned to typical smoothness.
Hey, um, is there any way I could get downstairs without coming in contact with crazy cat dude?

Finlay immediately took out his phone, happy for the distraction from the sudden violence, and his mother yelling about seeing her parents murdered and about her killing people. Thank God for Bleddyn. His eyes flicked over her text, and he nearly chuffed an audible laugh.
"Sorry, but he's sorta right outside your door. He also just tried to literally kill Toby. There's still pizza left if you can evade him. Um, please get down here. I need someone done here who isn't currently snarling about killing people."
