«We Could Be Legends»

Brisa glanced up, her eyes flickering to black as she concentrated. This was different from the other fight because now she couldn't control one of the elements. Even if she managed to stop Wolfram, Toby and his now human-shaped shadows could still attack him. Or even me, for trying to stop the fight. She realized, her resolution to help faltering slightly.

Wolfram stared at him hard, somehow the shadow's not scaring him at all."I would love to." He snarled. He sounded as if he would actually do it, his grip on Toby tightening. His eyes blazed with a glimmer of sheer insanity and rage, and....bloodlust. He let out a primal snarl, moving his hands towards Toby's neck, as if he where going to snap it. What am I doing?! He let go of Toby's neck, slamming a brutal punch to the other boys nose, and suddenly staggered backward, panting. Yet his eyes still held rage and the will to fight. No, not to fight. To kill.

Toby choked as Wolfram grabbed his throat. He fell down when he let go of him, and gasped for breath. The shadow creatures started moving towards Wolfram, reaching out their hands to try to grab him. Toby slowly stood up. He had spent years locking away his powers, where they would never hurt anyone. Now he couldn't stop them, and frankly, he didn't want to. "If you want me dead, then why haven't you killed me yet?" He asked, his voice still emotionless.

Wolfram glanced at the shadows, but made no move away from them."Because."He looked up from the shadows."To kill out of rage is to be a coward."

Toby punched Wolfram in the stomach, a small smile spreading across his face. "No one said I was going to kill you. That would be too easy. I will make you suffer, and when you finally ask for help, no one will be there, because everyone hates you." Toby said, is voice slow and soft. There wasn't any emotion in it, making him sound almost robotic.
Jessi's eyes widened and she stared at Toby. She had never seen him like that, and it scared her. As much as she hated Wolfram, she didn't want Toby to hurt him too much. "Toby, stop it. If you guys can't get along then go into different rooms." She said.
Toby heard someone say his name. What am I doing? He thought. He wanted to stop, to leave, but it was like a bad dream, one he couldn't control.

"Um, well, the guy that gave it to us said that it was a key to a bank vault thing." She replied. "We haven't opened it yet 'cause we were waiting for everyone to get here."

Brisa jumped up away from Wolfram, Jessi, and Toby, grabbing the key and sticking it deep in the bottom of her pocket. "Guys?" She asked hesitantly, bracing herself for another fight. They're all so beat up that they'll either not do much harm or kill each other. Then she noticed the encroaching shadows. "Guys, seriously, stop."

Wolfram doubled over, groaning in pain. 'No one will be there, because everyone hates you.' The words hurt more then they should've. They sent daggers into his heart, digging in deep. Suddenly, he surged upward, slamming a fist against Toby's jaw, pushing him against the wall. His eyes blazed wildly."No one messes with me and get's out unscathed."His eyes held a glimmer of insanity, but mostly rage. His previous pain had been forgotten, rage taking over every cell in his body. He snarled, his eye's in slits."You should have seen the wounds I engraved on Lily's body after she cheated on me. You would run and hide like a child if you even knew half the damage I can do." He lowered his face, right next to Toby's ear."No one gets away with hurting me."

Brisa took a step back, as if pushed by the power of their anger. She was at a loss for words. Closing her eyes for a second, she took a deep breath, gathering her powers. A lot of good that did you back at the IHOP. Her brain whispered maliciously. Can you even use telekinesis on shadows?

Toby's head snapped back and he stumbled back a few steps. He grunted when he was slammed into the wall, his eyes flickering from black to purple to black again. His smile widened. "Then kill me." He whispered. He clenched his hands into fists as the shadows started taking a humanoid shape.

"Oh goodness." Brisa breathed, wincing at the sound of the impact and the look in the boys' eyes.
Wolfram whipped his head to her."I don't need anyone to feel sorry for me. In fact, I don't want anyone to feel sorry."He snarled."Well at least death would stop the pain!"
Toby choked as Wolfram grabbed his throat. He fell down when he let go of him, and gasped for breath. The shadow creatures started moving towards Wolfram, reaching out their hands to try to grab him. "Stop! Stop! Wolfram, Toby, you're going to kill someone. If you don't care about killing each other, you'll care about the rest of us." Lachlan snarled, throwing himself forward, before hesitating when he came to their side. "Toby, what would Jessi do without you? Or Alpha? Wolfram... Not much, but you've got weirdo me, and whether or not they like it, my family. Both of you have lives, and people in them. It'd be pathetic to die now, after these years of life. Wolfram, what was that thing you said to Bleddyn in that van when I was half passed out and she was bleeding to death? You two need to get it in your heads that people actually care for you!"

Wolfram glanced at the shadows, but made no move away from them."Because."He looked up from the shadows."To kill out of rage is to be a coward."
"And finally something intelligent." Lachlan breathed, still eyeing Wolfram and Toby as though they were snakes, posed to bite.

"Yes that makes me feel better, reminding me I'm alone in the world!"Wolfram snarled. Suddenly, his eyes darkened when he mentioned Bleddyn."If you dare repeat another word I said that night, you will regret instantly."His voice shook, as if the words that he had spoken in the van scared him.

Wolfram glanced at the shadows, but made no move away from them."Because."He looked up from the shadows."To kill out of rage is to be a coward."

"And you aren't?" Toby said, staring at him.

Toby turned to glare at Lachlan. "I. Don't. Care." He hissed.

"And you aren't?" Toby said, staring at him.

Toby turned to glare at Lachlan. "I. Don't. Care." He hissed.
"I am a coward, Toby. I can't face my own father without crumbling. But I'm not going to be so cowardly that I will kill out of rage. There is a difference between who I am, and who I show, you know."Wolfram hissed.

Lachlan opened his mouth to give Wolfram a feisty retort, when something shoved him away, and a blur flashed in-front of his eyes.

"You wanna say something like that to my son again?" River purred, shoving past Lachlan in a swift move and catching Wolfram by the jaw, slamming him against the wall. "Because I will make you regret it, I've scarred people and killed people before, and I will do it again. You can be nothing, and I'd beat the breath out of you any day and enjoy every second of it like it was the best day of my life. I have seen almost nothing good from you, Wolfram. I have offered you help, and you have stabbed my friends and sons with your words time and time again." She snarled into his ear, meant only for him, and so quiet only he would hear. "Go ahead, child. Say something. Say how you've been through so much and no one understands, because it seems we don't, and I don't care."

Wolfram staggered against the wall, clutching his jaw. He let out a soft groan of pain, but his eyes held nothing but rage."Nothing good from me?"He rasped."You try finding your mother dead, you try living my life, then you would understand why it's so hard."He growled."I risked my life to save Bleddyn. I could have gotten killed. I knew that, But I did it anyway! You know why, River? Because I care! I care about her, I care about Lachlan, and God forbid it but I care about you to! And when it would come down to it I wouldn't think twice about giving my life to save you.
I'm not heartless, River. I'm just grieving, and it's hard to stay kind and calm when I'm around a bunch of people I don't know!"He paused, gasping for breath."So next time why don't you think twice about judging me, put yourself in my place before you say something like that, maybe you would understand! And River, I would never lay a finger on your son! I care to much about him to do that."

Kill them. Kill them all, before they hurt us. Toby slowly reached down and pulled his knife out of his pocket. He held it by his side, waiting for the right moment to attack. Jessi saw that, and grabbed one of the glass plates. "Toby, I hate to do this, I'm so sorry." She said. He turned around just in time to see her smash the plate over his head. He fell to the ground. "Next person to hurt anyone else in my house is going to get a plate smashed on their head. If you're going to fight, take it outside." Jessi snarled. She watched as the shadows slowly disappeared.
