«We Could Be Legends»

(GTG so it won't be a long post.)
River glanced up at him, her face contorted as she tried to force an amused smirk, but it failed quickly and turned into a half grimace, half insane and terrifying grin. "I've fought them before, I've learned them. I of anyone should have known. They attacked my place and didn't find it, so they had to assume it would be with one of the other people from the park. Plus, Camilla and Alice are Lachlan's cousins, and they probably knew he got close to you. I just... I was too worried about Lachlan to warn them. I allowed them to die, I kept it from them." Her eyes drifted away, void of life. "You know, kid, after my parents died, I lost contact with my little brother. But then, miracle of all miracles, I found him when I was eighteen and he was sixteen. I promised on my life I'd protect him." She whispered, her eyes meeting Wolfram's once more, now filled with sorrow. "Guess I failed that promise pretty bad, aye?"
His chest ached, and he was sure he felt his heart shattered into a million pieces as her sorrow filled gaze reached his. To much, to much! You can't hold it together, you....you can't....it's to much, Wolf, it's to much! "I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry." He whispered, though as hard as he tried to stop his voice from holding the emotion inside, he failed horribly, his voice crackling with pain. "I could keep telling you it's not your fault. That they don't blame you....but nothing I can say will make it better...will it?"

(I don't know why this didn't post.)
Toby's eyes widened, and he stared up at her with a mix of shock and horror. He slowly backed away from her, starting to shake slightly. Someone can enchant me, someone else can read my emotions, and now someone has telekinesis. No, no, I should leave. I need to leave.
Taylor froze, meeting his horrified violet eyes with confused, yet calm green ones. "It's alright." She murmured. "I won't hurt you, I promise."

Toby continued to back up, until he reached the door. He quickly opened it and walked outside, slamming it behind him. He glanced at his car, but decided against it. He was going to go for a walk. Walks always helped him think & clear his head. Why am I like this? All she did was was use a little telekinesis, and I start panicking like a cadged animal. Why can't I just relax for once? Why do I always have to run when something goes wrong? Why couldn't I have just not wanted pancakes? I wouldn't be in this mess, I would never have to know that there's a poison that going to kill millions of people. He sighed. I need to find a new park to go to. One that doesn't have Pure, or Multitude people there. Toby looked around. He was on high alert, noticing every suspicious person who walked or drove by, which to him, was everyone.

River gave a sad half-laugh, reaching up and grinding her fists into her now closed eyes wildly. "I can't believe I actually just rambled all that to you. Guess I'm going a little crazy." She murmured, trying to sound... Okay, but failing miserably as pain and shame escaped through her cracking voice. She yanked her hands from her eyes, opening them and blinking fast, before flicking them over to Wolfram. "You can't blame all of this on yourself, okay? Maybe I want to be at blame too, you don't get all the credit." She joked light-heartedly, giving a sadistic smile.
She twisted her head around, her dark blue eyes finding Camilla's still form, still laying limp and asleep on the couch. She grimaced, turning back to Wolfram. "My brother... Thomas, he... His powers were so strong. He had telekinesis and fire, Mapleshade must have had to have inhibited his powers to kill him, or he'd have just threw a truck on top of them." She murmured. "If they would have fought fair, my nieces wouldn't be orphans."

Wolfram's hand lay flat against the wall, fingers tapping against the wood softly. He sighed, eyes narrowed. "Mapleshade is strong. She can do anything if she wants it bad enough." His frown deepened, looking up to meet River's gaze. He looked away quickly, pupils slitting. His gaze drifted to Alice and Camilla slowly. "I can't understand." He whispered. "I can't understand why someone would be so cruel...to kill people....to leave children orphaned....to kidnap people.....torture them with the past...." He looked back to River, looking desperate for a answer. "Why?"

Jessi smiled. "That would be great!" She said, excited to have a match buddy. Her face fell. She wouldn't be able to do it today, considering she wanted to know more about the Pure. "I'm sorry, I can't do it today. Maybe we can do it another day? I doubt these will be the only hard math problems." She said.
Brisa looked up from her fruitless online searching, having overheard their conversation. “Do you want me to help?” She asked. “I’m pretty good at math. For example.” She said, pointing out one of Jessi’s “find the equation of a line” problems, “You should have flipped the slope instead of keeping it because it says, ‘a line that is perpendicular,’ instead of parallel.”

Jessi cocked her head to the side. "Ohhh, I see what you mean. Thanks Brisa!" She said, quickly fixing the problem. "One of Toby's friends used to help me with math a lot. She was a genius. She's… no longer here, though. And Toby's good at math, but can't properly explain it to save his life, so I always failed at it."

“You’re welcome.” Brisa smiled and turned back to the computer after saying, “Tell me if you need any more help.”

Jessi smiled and nodded. She turned back to her laptop & continued to work on some problems. She looked up at the clock. The minutes seemed to be ticking by slowly, to the point of almost torture. She glanced around the room. When it looked like no one was paying attention, she opened up another page and started to research the Multitude. Toby had been talking about it to her, before they went to bed, so she was curious to know what exactly they did, and if she could find them online.

A snap broke into Wolfram's thoughts. If River had replied, he didn't hear a single thing she had said, leaving himself to drown in his thoughts.
"Dude, wake up! You look like you're going to pass out."
Wolfram turned his head, to see a very angry Taylor standing next to him. "Sor-ry." He growled.
"Lily always said you where a weird one." Taylor muttered under her breath.
"Oh, then I'm sure she's so much happier with her new boyfriend." Wolfram hissed sarcastically.
"Shut up. I came here to learn about the key, so tell me about it." She demanded.
"Mmmmm, how about no?"
Suddenly a sharp smack, and then fiery pain was spreading across his cheek. He cursed under his breath, glaring at Taylor. "What the heck was that for?!" He snarled.
"Tell me about the key!" Taylor demanded again, hand raised threateningly. "I'm a Druid remember. I can do much worse then slap you. I can freeze you, or even burn your oh so handsome hair."
