(Cool!)(They aren't. She's just striking fear into them. She's going to get reinforcements while they are distracted.)
Bleddyn tensed as an ominous click sounded behind her. She spun around to find herself peering into the muzzle of handgun. The obscured face above it was just as intimidating with dead brown eyes radiating utter hatred and nothing else. The mask stretched tight over all the features that would've made this individual human; when a hole gaped in the material, Bleddyn was only able to grant it as a mouth once teeth made their humanizing appearance. "Meet your end, inferior." The husky voice was undeniably male, so that's what this monster became.Taylor hastily set Connor down, and whirled around at just the right moment as a flood of Pure came rushing toward them. She barked a laugh, glancing at the dying sun. "You're messing with the wrong people!" She didn't wait half a second; the light bent easily in her hands, and she directed it toward the nearest masked person, wincing as the shrieks echoed harshly.

Wolfram was surprised how easily he crushed Mapleshade down. A second to late, though, he realized it was a ploy. She surged upward, flinging him painfully to the ground.
He hissed, landing harshly on his side. He assessed the battle with a quick sweep of his gaze as he struggled to his feet. Creatures that had fled the city were coming back, mostly shapeshifters, but he saw ice and fire and light benders, centaurs and humans alike. But they were no match for the Pure's numbers it seemed.
With a snarl, he launched himself at Mapleshade again. Claws and teeth met flesh and fur, the metallic taste of blood filling his jaws. He wondered, for a fleeting moment, if he should relish in the feeling of spilling the she-cats blood, or if he should be horrifyed.
But he didn't have long to think about it in the heat of battle. Mapleshade grasped him between her claws, forcing him closer to the ground. Her blade-sharp claws met his face, teeth met ever inch of him she could find, biting at hard as she could. Panic welled in his chest, his claws flailing blindly for a grasp at something. He surged up, flinging her off suddenly. She may be larger, but he was quicker.
She yowled, hitting the solid tar with a sickening thud. He stared in panicked horror for a minute, wondering if he had shoved her hard enough to kill her. But she rose to her paws, her green eye gleaming with rage.
But Wolfram met her rage with a even higher intensity, claws unsheathed and tail whipping furiously. She really thinks she can beat me. Because she can!
She lunged forward, forcing all of her weight against him. He yelped, decided to stop struggling to keep balance, and rolled away, leaping to his feet. Silently, he cursed when he saw Bleddyn, weaponless, still in the clearing. But he didn't have time to warn her that a Pure member was looming up behind her, because Mapleshade caught him unaware, and forcefully pushed him down, jaws dripping blood.
This is it, he mused, struggling furiously. This is the end of it.

Suddenly confident in her brilliant idea in utilizing of the pettiest of counterattacks, Bleddyn shrugged the threat off.
He was the one who'd made the mistake of being at this close of range.
So, she kicked him.
When he crumpled forward, her foot was there to disarm him.
"Sorry, I must be a little dyslexic today." She stomped down hard on the gloved hand that crept for the gun it'd lost and instead retrieved it for herself. Her hand waved a wide flourish to where her wildly and wonderfully gifted friends were warding off these immoral beasts. "Aren't you the inferiors?"
She was smiling shamelessly when she pulled the trigger.
Wolfram heard a shriek, and suddenly the ground and his body shuddered as he felt crackling power whip through the air. But the immense pressure on his chest ceased, and he dared to open his eyes. He scrambled to his paws, realizing it was Brisa standing over him. He didn't quite understand what she was saying, but he knew it had to be something like, are you hurt? so he went with it. He shifted quickly into his human skin, drawing in a sharp breath. His cat body could deal with immense pain better then his human one could. "F-fine," he managed through a gasp. "Thank's, Brisa."
He shifted suddenly as Mapleshade struggled to her paws, favoring one leg, and he slipped back into the battle with a flick of his tail.

“You’re welcome.” Brisa gasped, breathless, relief filling her as her got to his feet and hurtled past her. If I kill Mapleshade will the fighting stop? She wondered, looking in the direction she had thrown the cat-shifter, but couldn’t see her. Letting out an annoyed sound she drew back her hand and slammed a group of approaching Pure backwards with her power, briefly wondering where this amount of force was coming from.Wolfram dashed and slipped around Pure members, seaching for Mapleshade. He paused, glancing around, and regretting it instantly. When he took a moment to pause, he could scent and hear everything. Gun shots went off; shrieks shredding the air furiously, the crackling whip of power snaking through the air as Taylor forced the sun to obey her will. The scents of coppery fear, white-hot rage and metallic blood filled the air, overwhelming him quickly. He shook his head frantically, trying to clear his head to think. He shifted into his human form again, unable to find Mapleshade is the mass of people.
Shaking off the wave of threatening nausea, he dashed through the crowd, nothing more then a quick shadow for a minute, until he paused, snatching a gun from a dead Pure member. He snaked his way around the battle, only pausing to pull the trigger at a oncoming Pure. He reached the rest of the group, only to find a figure looming over a weaponless, cowering Lily.
He hissed furiously. He undeniably hated Lily, but enough to let her get killed?
Swiftly, he crept up behind the dark figure, raising the gun ever so slightly. "Step away from her."
The figure whirled, and took a step back when it stopped him. He wondered for a fleeting second if he looked like death on two feet.
He raised the gun, hesitating. "I'm sorry," he hissed through clenched teeth. This person might have a family of there own, kids, a partner, siblings, friends..."But you threaten my friends." He shook his head, "I can't let you do that anymore."
He grimaced as he pressed down on the trigger, the Pure member falling to the ground, twitching. He glanced at Lily, who stared up at him, shivering. "For God's sake, Lily, get up and fight instead of laying there like a coward!"
He slipped back into the heat of battle, noticing Taylor setting fire to one of the Pure members. He shuddered. How ruthless is this battle? Wait, THERE!
Wandering almost aimlessly by the area Bleddyn, Ash, River, and Taylor fought, was Mapleshade, now in her human form. She was dressed just like the rest of the Pure, head to toe in black, armed with a gun and knives. But she had the masked pulled off, making it easy to recognize her. He yelped, firing a shot at a advancing Pure, and snaked his way toward where he had seen Mapleshade.
But she was gone.
He whirled on Taylor and Bleddyn, eyes flashing. "Where is she?!"
Mapleshade grinned, her scarred face twisting into a vitriolic mask. "Thank you for clearing the path for me, dearie." She hissed, coming up behind Brisa and hooking a arm around her throat, raising her gun slowly. "Alright, look," she lowered her head to whisper in the girls ear, her voice virulent. "I'll give you one chance, one chance only. Tell me where the key is, and I'll let you and your pathetic friends go. And if you don't," the gun clicked unpropitiously. "Well, we don't want to see what happens then, now do we?"“You’re welcome.” Brisa gasped, breathless, relief filling her as her got to his feet and hurtled past her. She's got Brisa! Sherri thought, not paying much attention to the threat, ready to punch Mapleshade in the face with one of Wolfram's best. But before she could, a young man stepped into the clearing, a ball of flame hovering above his hands.Mapleshade grinned, her scarred face twisting into a vitriolic mask.
