"Yeah, yeah okay." River groaned, usually she would have brushed him off and helped herself up, but instead she grabbed his head, letting him help pull her to her feet, one of her hands still clasped over her wounded side. "Thanks, Wolfram." She mumbled, giving a racking cough and beginning to try to shuffle onto to Jessi, obviously in bad pain.
"Gah, feels like one of my rib bones is poking my guts." She muttered under her breath, her ears laid slick against her head in pain.
"I feel your pain." Wolfram hissed, unsteadily trying to pull himself up Jessi's wing. The dragon's (wyvern's) scales were fairly smooth, giving him little to hold onto. Finally, with a low whimper of pain, he hauled himself onto the top of the dragon (wyvern). He found that there was little to hold onto, sending waves of panic through him. Without warning, ragged coughs racked his body, leaving him gasping for air. A thin whimper escaped his throat, and he clamped his jaws shut. No matter how much pain he was in, he would not let it faze him. "You alright, River?"
Once they were on, Jessi flew them out. She nudged them off of her, and flew back down, hopefully for the last time.
"She's just come back," Indigo informed him. A strange blood-red worm slithered out of the wall, and Indigo cringed. "You're right, these worms should be world renowned for their hospitality."
Toby laughed. "Don't get too comfortable with them, I would rather you were with us than with the worms." Aka, please don't die.
