«We Could Be Legends»

"Yeah, yeah okay." River groaned, usually she would have brushed him off and helped herself up, but instead she grabbed his head, letting him help pull her to her feet, one of her hands still clasped over her wounded side. "Thanks, Wolfram." She mumbled, giving a racking cough and beginning to try to shuffle onto to Jessi, obviously in bad pain.
"Gah, feels like one of my rib bones is poking my guts." She muttered under her breath, her ears laid slick against her head in pain.

"I feel your pain." Wolfram hissed, unsteadily trying to pull himself up Jessi's wing. The dragon's (wyvern's) scales were fairly smooth, giving him little to hold onto. Finally, with a low whimper of pain, he hauled himself onto the top of the dragon (wyvern). He found that there was little to hold onto, sending waves of panic through him. Without warning, ragged coughs racked his body, leaving him gasping for air. A thin whimper escaped his throat, and he clamped his jaws shut. No matter how much pain he was in, he would not let it faze him. "You alright, River?"

Once they were on, Jessi flew them out. She nudged them off of her, and flew back down, hopefully for the last time.

"She's just come back," Indigo informed him. A strange blood-red worm slithered out of the wall, and Indigo cringed. "You're right, these worms should be world renowned for their hospitality."

Toby laughed. "Don't get too comfortable with them, I would rather you were with us than with the worms." Aka, please don't die.

"Don't worry, they're no friends of mine." Indigo tried not to study the slimy worm as she pondered over the number of diseases it might carry. She wasn't a big fan of invertebrates.

"Are you planning to come out anytime soon, or are you going to stay with your new friend? I don't need to come down there, do I?" Toby asked, once he noticed she wasn't getting on Jessi. He sounded slightly worried.

"Don't be such a worrywart, I was just getting on," Indigo said in an almost irritated voice. She was secretly happy with the attention. With flourish, she climbed on to Jessi's back, ignoring the awkwardness that came with her being an actual person. She grabbed on and let Jessi take her away.

"I'll stop worrying once you and Jessi get out of the pit." Toby replied. Jessi flew out and landed at the edge of the hole. Toby extended the hand on his non-injured arm, to help her down, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

Indigo gave him a gentle pat and a smile, not sure if that was acceptable payment for his worries. So far from what she knew about Toby, she knew he hated people worrying caring about him, or even looking about him. Hopefully a bit of politeness would be an acceptable substitute.
She glanced at his eyes anyways, relieved that they were at the rather abnormal purple color and not an alarming black.
She rubbed her hands together, prepared to fight, before glancing at the ground.
"There is a lot of injured right now," she said, peering at Sherri, who seemed to have fallen out of consciousness mid-moan.

Toby flinched slightly and blinked a couple times, surprised when he was patted. "Why...?" He shook his head, deciding it was best to not ask questions. He looked at the ground when she looked at him. He hated making eye contact, because it always felt like the person looking at him was staring into his soul, learning all of his fears and secrets.
"Wha-oh! Oh, I'm out of gauze," Toby said, gripping his backpack and looking around at the injured people. He spotted Peter, who was bleeding pretty bad. "I'm.. going.. to... go.." he said, using his thumb to point at Peter. He walked up to him, and knelt down. "Hey Pete, you're hurt pretty badly. I don't have any bandages, but I have a tourniquet, which should stop the bleeding. You might lose the leg, but it's better than losing your life. May I...?" He asked.

Peter struggled to his feet. "What? No, the others..." he gestured at the air as if he couldn't think of the word. "the other.. people are more hurt. I'm fine. Just teleporting, you know, too much. I don't need a leg." He mumbled. Some part of him knew he was talking nonsense, and should probably stop right now, but the other part was too exhausted to care.

"You've been shot in the leg. You don't look very fine to me." Toby said. "I've already done the best I can for the others, so right now you're the one at risk of dying. Sit back down, standing is going to make you bleed more."

Brisa followed Toby over to Peter, feeling useless. “Is there anything I can do to help?” She asked worriedly.
