"Oh," Sherri said. She hung up. "To River's house!"
Her mother drove her in without asking questions.
"Umm, why are there so many people?" Emily asked.
"Toby?"
Sherri saw him. She walked into the house, and Emily looked at River, question in her green eyes.
Toby tried to shrink down in his car where no one could see him, but he was spotted by Sherri. He waved at her, though inside he was cringing. So many people. They all saw me leave at the park. This is so bad. He thought. Jessi got out of the car. "Woah woah woah, Jessi what are you doing?" Toby asked and tried to grab he hand to pull her back into the car. "I'm going to hang out with my friends. Come on, it'll be fun. You might actually make a friend for once." Jessi replied.
"I have friends." Toby muttered.
"You mean the online people you play video games with? Or the people you ride with that are way older than you? I mean people in real life closer to your age."
"Thanks mom, but I'll be fine."
"Okay, at least stay here in the car until I leave, please?" Jessi asked and walked inside.
