"Er... no, h-he was missing?" Toby asked, glancing around. Now that Brisa mentioned it, he did see a strange lack of one of their members.
"Yes, and it's her fault!" Wolfram snarled, glaring at Misty, "where is Connor, Misty? What have you done with him?"

Toby climbed out of the car and slammed the door behind him. His purple eyes were dark and full of anger. "Hey! You don't know she did something to her, so don't blame her! Besides, why would she hurt him, eh? And don't say she's crazy, or a psychopath, or anything else the like that, because I'm tired of hearing it. What would she get out of hurting Connor?" He asked angrily.

He asked angrily.
"She is psychopathic!" Wolfram snarled, "for all I know, she's working for Mapleshade. That could be why she would hurt Connor. Truly, I wouldn't be surprised if she came out and told me she worked for Mapleshade, with her psychopathic and homicidal tendencies and all, not to mention she's a wanted criminal!"

"Both of you!" River's sharp voice erupted from her throat as she walked forward, glowering at the two inhumans. "Lay off. Wolfram, Misty wouldn't have hurt Connor. I've known her for half my life, and I can easily tell you that she would have hurt him. And calling her a Mapleshade spy?" She stalked closer to Wolfram, glaring down at him. "That's childish of you. If Misty were working for that monster, I'd be the first to know. And I promise you; if I even suspected that she worked for the woman who murdered my brother, there'd be very little of her left for you to accuse."
She backed up, glancing between them angrily. "I'll go look for him, and while I'm doing that, you two better watch yourselves, and stop acting like children, especially if you want to get out of any of this alive." She spat.

"Then why hasn't she killed us yet? Why would she only attack Connor?" Toby paused. "I get you don't like her, or anybody for that matter, but come on. You're going to verbally attack her? She wouldn't do that. Most people here have known her for many, many years. You don't need to instantly blame one of our friends just because you don't like her." He said calmly. "Go ahead and just blow this off. I'm trying to be nice, but I will not tolerate you, or anyone, saying things like that to one of my friends." So for goodness sake Wolfram, do us all a favor and keep your mouth shut for once.

Brisa stepped aside as Toby got out of his car, raising her eyebrows in disbelief at Wolfram’s claims and nodding in agreement as the others spoke. “Wolfram, look, don’t ask us to turn against a trusted friend whom we’ve known for most of or all of our lives, especially when you have absolutely no proof that she did anything bad.” She added.

Sherri caught the whole conversation with her catty ears, and rubbed away her tears fiercely, not liking this cat shifter one bit and looking for a chance to condemn him. Red welts formed under her eyes where she had rubbed so hard, and she sniffed a little for lack of a tissue, but she spat fiercely, "Oh, Wolfram, stop being so hypocritical! Think about..." your own actions for once. Sherri blushed a deep scarlet, quite impressive on her pale, freckled face, it's brilliance brighter than her orangey hair. Oh dear, Sherri, you've done wrong. I've been so self-centered recently, haven't I? Sherri blinked to prevent more tears from springing up. "Oh, I'm terribly sorry," she said in a guilty voice horribly ashamed. "I've been the worst of us, haven't I?" Those words were up for personal interpretation, and she hoped at least one person would disagree with her. Or maybe not. Maybe she should bear a little pain for all this, feel a little convicted.
Indigo simply stared at her with a long face, soulful eyes suddenly staring deep into Sherri's own soul, it seemed. Her pursed lips almost traced the faintest smile, wondering if the group would work harmoniously at last.

Jessi turned to Sherri. "Sherri, no, you've done nothing wrong. You and Brisa have been the only ones not arguing like a pack of wolves-" She glanced at the wolf-shifters. "-No offense."

Sherri nodded quietly, still looking at her feet. I guess.

"It's not my fault that I'm untrusting. You can't say I don't have a good reason, look what happened to my mom! Just because you trust Misty doesn't mean I should," Wolfram glowered slightly, a growl to his voice, "looks can be deceiving, River. She may look and act innocent, but so did Mapleshade, while standing over the body of the woman she had just murdered. And you aren't going anywhere, you're staying here. You've already run far enough, and God knows how many Pure members might be swarming around out there..." He drew off, looking at Toby and Sherri, "for your information, Toby, I do in fact like some people, just not others, and for good reasons. And Sherri, yeah, yeah, I should think before I speak, whatever. I get it," he leaned against his car, eyes glowering slightly. "If you all trust Misty, fine. Just don't expect me to trust her."
