«We Could Be Legends»

A terrified shriek escaped Wolfram's throat as he was lifted off the ground. A hind leg shot out, furiously scrambling for purchase, but found none, only succeeding in hurting himself further.
'Put me down, put me down, put me down!' His meow was shrill with the fear of not knowing where he was, and only feeling ground beneath him when her head dipped low. 'If I get out of this alive I am going to kill you, River! Please put me down!'
When Bleddyn rolled out into wonderfully open space, she was losing her head to hilarity and tears were still staining her grimy face shiny.

River set him down gently, her eyes raging. "Alright, you little kitty. Listen, at least get the drift of what I'm saying. You need to suck it up and shut your muzzle for once in your life. If you walk yourself, you will pass out. So deal with it." She snarled at the much smaller creature, her body hunched down considerable due to the tight confinements of the tunnel.
'River, I've dealt fine on my own so far. I can deal with it.' Wolfram had intended for the retort to be caustic and scathing, but he just came out as a weak hiss. He took a shaky step forward, wondering if River was actually correct, because a wave of nausea grabbed at him. 'Fine! But I swear if you tell anyone that I let you carry me as if I were a kit, I will...not kill you. But find something equally as embarrassing about you to tell everyone.' He hissed with a scowl.

Jessi poked Bleddyn with her snout as she came out of the tunnel. She gestured at her to climb on, and flattened herself to the ground, lowering her wing to be used as a ramp.

River, getting the idea of what he said, gave a huffy laugh of a bark, before bending over, gently picking him up in her jaws, and started to crawl forward, finally breaking out into another cavern and scrambled up to Bleddyn.
She blew a chunk of mud off her nose, giving a hacking cough as she set Wolfram down, and shifted into her human for form, collapsing to the ground and clutching her throbbing side.

Bleddyn looked up as she was booped and started sobbing even more hysterically, if that was actually possible. She nearly fell off on multiple occasions throughout the tipsy boarding process, but eventually she'd situated herself atop the wyvern.

Wolfram scrambled to his paws, gasping, taking a full breath for what felt like the first time in hours. He gave a soft yelp of horror as a dragon (Wyvern, he reminded himself) loomed over him. He shakily padded to River's side, and shifted. He knew that was the last time he could shift, that he wouldn't be able to take anymore, as he shakily knelt down beside her. "River," he rasped, realizing his throat felt like he had swallowed sand. "Jessi will bring us up, alright? We'll sort this out." He extended his unwounded arm, offering his hand to her. "Come on, I'll help you."

Jessi flew up, and landed on the edge of the hole. She carefully helped Bleddyn down, nudging her next Sherri and the fairy. She flew back down, where she found Wolfram and River. She was getting tired of flying back and forth, and hoped they would climb up quickly so she could get out of there.

Bleddyn suddenly became starkly aware that they'd all left an unfinished battle behind on the surface and ceased her hysterics. So, mentally preparing herself for her instant death, she slowly rose over the two unconscious girls on unsteady legs and pivoted to see... a battlefield ridden with defenseless wounded and dead. Did we really...there is no way...

Taylor whirled around, the flame wall she had been struggling to keep up flickering threateningly. "You're...you're alive." She stammered blankly, gasping heavily. "Wolfram...is he...? How...? Did you all survive?"

"Everyone else is good," Bleddyn supplied slowly as her traveling eyes accumulated more and more for her whirling mind to take in, then gestured downward. "And, hey, we got this...fairy-whatchamacallit girl." The next remark came as offhandedly as her tenuous composure required. "My dad's gone, though."
