«We Could Be Legends»

Mikki turned to Brisa from where they were in the air. “Will you be okay? We can help more people if we split up.”
“I’ll be fine, Mom, go.” Brisa replied as Mikki lowered her to the ground. She immediately slammed back a Pure member, knocking his gun from his hands and running to retrieve it.

Toby was sick of the death, both around him, and in the rp. He killed people anyway, because we really need to revive this.
A diminutive, dark haired man slunk towards Toby and Indigo. Indigo touched Toby's shoulder. He still hadn't seen the man. Most of the Pure had already run off. The man raised a gun, and Indigo had little time to react.

Toby flinched when something grabbed him, turning around and almost shooting Indigo, before realizing who she was. "Oops," he mumbled. He knew he should probably apologize, after all he almost killed her, but he figured it could wait until another time when they weren't fighting. Toby noticed the man sneaking up on them, somehow making it past Jessi. The man raised his gun but Toby was faster, shooting him in the shoulder. He watched as the man fell over, feeling a twinge of guilt that it wasn't an instant kill.

The man hissed in response and brushed himself up, now lifting his gun to the more eminent threat. The cold metal was only inches from Toby's head. Indigo fired at his stomach.
As the shot fired out he clutched his middle and keeled over.
Indigo glanced at Toby. "Thanks for not shooting me. And protecting me too, I guess." She grinned.

As the man fell down once again, Toby turned to Indigo. "Protecting you? You're the one that kept him from shooting me." He said. And you saved my life countless times. "Yeah, sorry about almost shooting you. I didn't recognize you for a second."

Indigo would have replied, but the two of them seemed to be in the thick of things. With a grimace, she continued to face the significantly smaller group of Pure. This time she was not alone, however, and it wasn't just Toby helping. Some of the Inhumans who had fled the city, and even a few fierce ungifted had joined the fray. The fear in their eyes was turning to triumph with every enemy defeated, though the people felt remorse for each human being felled by their own doing.

Toby knelt down to grab a gun and ammo from one of the dead Pure members. When he looked up, he was relieved to see there wasn't as many Pure. The feeling didn't last long, as he was reminded more could still come, most likely stronger than before. If more Pure come we're all screwed.
Honestly I'm surprised we've made it this long.

Toby looked at Indigo. "Do you see Mapleshade? We need to kill her before she calls reinforcements."

Toby looked at Indigo. "Do you see Mapleshade? We need to kill her before she calls reinforcements."
Indigo shook her head and glanced around. "I don't see Mapleshade." Smoke swirled in thick clouds. The fire had spread to the trees, which were dry as tinder. That's going to escalate fast... she thought. The trees were only an obstruction for her vision right now, but the fire could escalate quickly, transforming the low, crowded trees into a deadly firewall.
Hopefully the wind won't pick up. She thought.
Another thought. If we don't kill Mapleshade, the fire definitely will. And how many innocent people will burn in the forest?
We need a hydrokinetic now... or someone who can control the wind, a wind gatherer...

Wolfram stared at the burning trees, taking a sharp intake of air. Scratch that, a sharp intake of smoke. His lungs burned, his throat tightening as the fire spread quicker, and he coughed furiously, his lungs and ribs aching. He saw a flicker of black and orange run by, and he lunged forward, snatching a handful of rough clothing, and yanking backward. It was Mapleshade, scrambling to get away. He barely flinched as she raked claws across his face, as it was nothing compared to some of his worse wounds. He brought up a fist, slamming it against her jaw, knocking her back.
Her shriek was enough to deafen him, but he pounced on her as she fell, his hand coming down again. "Traitor!" He spat. "She trusted you!"
"I trusted her, too. It didn't last long, now did it?" She hissed, catching him off guard and rolling away, springing into a standing position. He couldn't see her, the fire spreading quicker then he'd ever seen a fire spread, thick smoke filling the air.
He felt her though, as she sprung from the smoke with surprising strength, batting him to the ground. The breath left his lungs, leaving him stunned and breathless as her knee dug into his broken rib. He struggled with futile attempts to get away, letting out a seething hiss.
"Poor kitty-boy." She murmured, drawing her gun from her belt. "Night-night."
Trepidation hit him, harder then he ever expected it to when the gun was pressed to his head. There had been a time, not long ago, that he would have wanted her to kill him, anyone to kill him. But now, the thought of death frightened him. If she killed him, then she had won. Her goal had been reached.
But he had no energy left. Every bone in his body felt like they were on fire, every muscle screaming for him just to give up. He couldn't though; he couldn't let her win. He surged up, his hand grabbing her gun hand and he twisted, harder and harder until he pulled a scream out of her as bone crunched and snapped, causing her to drop the gun. Adrenaline rushed through him once more, and he kicked up, and flung her away as hard as he could, gasping and snatching the gun as he struggled to his feet.
He wouldn't need the gun, though.
He stared, horror choking him, as Mapleshade rolled off the tar, and down the small hill, directly into the raging wild fire that had spread to the grass and bushes below.
Her shrieks were soul-shaking, the Inhuman fire raging faster and higher as the wind picked up, as it grabbed it's prey, burning her alive.
Her screeching was cut off abruptly, as if life had been instantly drained from her. He looked away, gasping and freezing and drained, but he had no tears to shed for the she-shifter.
