[ʀᴇꜱᴏʟᴠᴇᴅ] Hen suddenly falling asleep while standing, droopy tail! | 𝘌𝘥𝘪𝘵: 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘬𝘢𝘨𝘦

Here they are eating some mealworms! They are roaming around my garden right now. 🤣

Alek is still outside with the other chickens. He even slept the night out in the coop, instead of in our bedroom. He's doing great.
Elsie got to go back outside today! She was making so much noise and moving around so much this morning, that it was clear she was feeling a lot better!
Maisie and Sadie both ate and drank this morning! They are outside right now exploring.
Just a few moments ago, Maisie ran across the yard, flapping her wings, to get a hug from me when she heard my voice. It made me so happy! Just three days ago she could barely wake up. Now she is running for hugs!
Praise the Lord they are doing so much better!
Thank you everyone for all your help! We went from four chickens on the brink of death to four chickens that are eating, drinking, making noises, exploring, and begging for hugs! I'm so elated that they have healed so much.

Edited to add: Here's a cute video Tiff took of our Sadie girl today.

I’m so thankful everything turned around for your chickens! I was really worried for a while there. I had no idea this could happen after worming. Glad to have followed along on this journey and learned how to treat this. You guys were so well prepared, I’m taking lessons on that, also!

@tlcmurphy it was so kind of you to post another thread asking for help, too. The response on that one was also really informative!

Thanks, I learned a lot from this thread and the other. Not only do I now know it can happen, but how to fix it if it does!
These young women are heroes in my eyes. Well done @Tiffany Wikk @Elspeth Dinsmore!

Y'all are literally so sweet and amazing! 💗 If it wasn't for you guys, I don't know what we would have done! Everyone participated in so many ways to help save these chickens. I had no idea this could happen either. I hope this benefits other people in the future as well. When the chickens are fully healed, and if I have time, I wanna do a summary post so that anyone in a rush can come through and read all the advice and things that were done to save the chickens.

Thanks again, @tlcmurphy, for tagging all those helpful people, and making us another thread to help us as well. It was so thoughtful and kind of you to take time out of your days to help us!

We love our chickens so much. They are like pets to us. We are learning so many things. It's definitely been a roller coaster ride trying to do the best we can to take care of them. They are such good little chickens.

Specifically Maisie is a little gem. Ever since she was a chick, she always wanted to be around us. When she gives hugs, they are literally full on hugs. She will hug you.
She will stick her little head up high and rub it behind your ear over and over again. Or she will try to crawl into your coat and stick her head up under the shoulder of the coat.

Sadie will bawk really loud and stand at your feet to be picked up and squished into a massive hug.

Alek will hop up onto chairs and snuggle up next to your leg for pets.

And Elsie...well...she runs away if you try to touch her, but she wants to be near you too. 😂

These are the sweet little birds everyone helped save (I took these photos a while ago):

My one Brahma hen does this and it is just so sweet!!! 🥰🥹

My BO Buttercup runs up to greet me too, but when she realizes I don’t have food she jumps up to try and bite me. Luckily she’s fat and can only clear about 6” 🤣
I chuckled when I read this! 😂
All three of my Buff Orpingtons have been the sweetest little chickens ever. They don't bite me, but Sadie will peck your pants until you realize that she wants your attention. 🙃
