[ʀᴇꜱᴏʟᴠᴇᴅ] Hen suddenly falling asleep while standing, droopy tail! | 𝘌𝘥𝘪𝘵: 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘬𝘢𝘨𝘦

Awww, so sweet! We are so happy too! We were so worried that they would all die.

They just had another nap, now they are up again, walking around, making happy noises, and drinking a lot again!

I gave them 4 cups warm water with 4 tsp. sugar, 4 pinches salt, 4 pinches baking soda, and some of my mom's homemade electrolyte drink.

Aw, thank you so much for the support!

Elsie and Sadie both ate some breakfast that I made them! I cooked up millet and oats with water, brown sugar, coconut oil, salt, molasses, brewers yeast, and vitamin E.

Elsie really went to town and enjoyed it a lot!

Every hour, I open the curtains, encourage them to drink, eat, and walk around. Then they get tired and nap again. They are doing so much better.

So quick question. Sadie has been doing this weird thing with stretching her neck out and opening her mouth. I've seen chickens do this before but she does it repeatedly for a bit, then she stops and does it again a few minutes later. She wasn't doing this through the night that I'm aware of. She was doing it some yesterday though. None of the others are doing this (maybe just a couple times? Elsie did for a bit too, they are the ones eating the most). I wanted to know if this was okay? What might she be doing? Is she gasping for breath (she doesn't seem to be struggling breathing) or just maneuvering her crop to empty? Something else? She's still acting way better than yesterday. They all are the same as this morning, sleepy but better than yesterday. They ate more food, drank more water and are napping again, but Sadie keeps doing this thing:

That's called crop adjustment one of my hens does it a lot.

My boy, Alek, wanted to go for a walk outside! He is still very weak, but it's good he could walk around.
When I brought him back inside, he spit up some onto the carpet. I was trying not to touch his crop, but I must have put a bit of pressure on it. I'm not used to a chicken spitting up so easily though. I smelled it, and it was a bit sour. Does chicken spit-up always smell a little funny, or is it just from feeling sick, or could he have sour crop as well? He hasn't wanted to eat yet today, but he drank a lot. If he does have sour crop, should I treat him, or do I need to wait until he gains more strength?

When my chickens spit-up it has a smell. Normally they spit-up if I pick them up after drinking a lot or if they have a very watery crop☺️ (mostly happens in the summer when they drink a lot)
The other ones think it taste good if I don't catch it in time🤣

Thanks again, CC! He only has water in his crop and he had just drank. This is likely it! It's hard cause now I'm so nervous at anything that could go wrong. I'm so hopeful they will all pull through!
