Lifelong horse crazy here. I don't own horses due to land and budget restrictions, but a friend of mine owns a few and I ride there occasionally.
This is my mount, sweet Sunny. He's a Missouri Fox Trotter gelding and about 10 years old. He's a bit on the slow side but I prefer him over the more fiery mounts because old bones don't bounce ;)

I only trail ride. I use an endurance saddle so I can't classify myself as being in any one particular discipline.

He's beautiful!

Just a tip, horse's that are listed at a cheaper price like the $600 QH can sometimes be a little sketchy, as can higher priced horses but make sure you always ask a lot of questions and go to try the horse out before you make your final decision.:thumbsup First horses are exciting! But don't let yourself get all caught up in the moment and make a choice you'll regret later:hmm
:thumbsup @FeatherMtnFarms is right, but our William cost only 500 bucks and he is worth his weight in PURE GOLD! Best horse ever! My Memphis cost $3,800 and while he is sweet and wonderful, he is skittish and can only be handled by me, as he is too dangerous for younger, inexperienced riders.
And I can barely handle him! There's something about a bad horse that teaches you how to stay in the saddle.......

Does else anyone do 4H with their horses? I do

I used to do 4-H. Pony Club too. I focused on English and then later turned my focus to dressage. I much preferred 4-H to Pony Club. I feel there is a lot more competitiveness between members in Pony Club and more of a team feeling in 4-H. I currently have two Thoroughbreds but my dream horse is a Friesian! Oh, and I do also day-dream about breeding one of my TB mares to a fabulous dressage warmblood!

My 13 year old OTTB bay gelding Memphis. He's 16.1, has a lil white star and is solid bay all over. He's a sweetheart, and horrible too! Cows make him go psycho, leaving his pasture-mates turns him hysterical, and he cannot handle riding alone at all. Tough when you live in the heart of cow country and can't leave or even ride down the driveway because of the cows nextdoor and everywhere! I love him though, and he is very affectionate and an awesome jumper. He is the complete opposite of his buddy Fast William, a 21 year old Arabian gray gelding. That horse is the best! Anyone can ride him, nothing scares him or fases him, and he is calm and collected, yet still fast as his name suggests. He used to be an endurance horse until he was retired a couple years ago. Now he is a trail horse, and going strong! Don't have any p ics of him on my computer, I will get some! He's a big boy too, at 16 hands!
Last there is Legasea, a piebald Miniature, about 11 years old. He's spunky and tempermental like all those little guys, and not afraid of the big boys!

Oh man, that sounds familiar! I know some people seem to have luck with it but I have never taken a horse off the track that didn't lose. its. ever. loving. mind. when it came to cows. Every single one turns into a raging lunatic over cattle. The one I had before this was terrible. I keep telling myself that someday I'll pull one that doesn't bat an eye at cows, but it hasn't happened yet. :gig

Memphis looks like a sweetie though, even if he is a bit loopy. Mine was a fruit loop today too. They just can't help themselves sometimes.

Hello Everyone!

Y'all can call me Wild.
I have been riding horses on and off for about 12 years. I started taking lessons when I was young at a local riding stable and started in the western discipline. When I changed stables I started learning dressage but only kept that up for a couple months before switching back to western.

I currently own two horses. Barbie (a 16 year old chestnut Quarter Horse) and June (a 15 year old pinto pony).

Hello, fellow equestrian lovers. :3

You can call me Va, VA, Vanilla even Nilla if you want. Anything relating to Vanilla, except for Nilly. That is reserved for mai friends.

Okie.
So.
I rode for a couple years, about 2 years ago. English is what I prefer, but I've never rode western, so it's not a fair judgement. XD I haven't ridden in a while, so please excuse my lack of knowledge. I am looking for a horse, though, so hopefully said knowledge will come back once I start riding again. As of now, though, I'm a beginner.

I like expensive breeds the best. Probably due to my expensive taste in just about everything. :p Some of my favorites are Andalusians, Friesians, Akhal-Tekes, GYPSIES and Belgian Warmbloods. I know perfectly well that they aren't the best for a beginner, but that doesn't stop me from liking them. :3

I look forward to getting to know some fellow horse lovers/owners!
