I have always had handle on the drawers and doors and I'm in the USA.... I have always lived in older places with older cabinets... the modern stuff doesn't always have handles

And probably costs more for less like no handles. Kinda like the time my wife brought home dinner from a Mexican restaurant she wanted to try. When I opened the multiple containers I had to assemble my quassadillas! What the hell it twice as much and some assembly required! They don't even put the **** together! No no no. 15.00 a dinner they're putting it together

As far as for me, I'm not sure if I will get to it this week or not, but my next project is going through a bunch of kids clothes to donate.
