The only poultry feed carried in my town is by Alaska Mill and Feed. There is now a smaller Alaskan outfit that sells bags of pure oats, barley, and a mix of the two that I use as scratch.

It seems pretty light in nutrients compared to the Flock Raiser that I'm feeding! Cheaper isn't everything!

What brand do you feed, Mary? Where do you get it?
I've been shelling out big bucks for Natures Best grower feed for my hens from TSC, but I live across the street from the local mill that sells Kalmbach. Thinking of switching. Thanks

I feed Purina Flock Raiser, (nearly) always fresh where I shop. It's better priced than some other feeds, although not the cheapest either.
Kalmbach isn't available here, so I've never tried it.

I am currently feeding Texas Natural Feeds; Layer Pellets for the breeding flock and Starter/Grower for the youngsters. I'm currently raising English Orpingtons and know that they need a higher protein. I'm contemplating moving them onto a pelleted Gamebird Feed and offering calcium separately, but am having a hard time finding anything locally.

I don't think I've come across a pellet game bird feed yet.
I've only seen it come in crumble.
