IMO, that is the best way to ship eggs. Eggs that I have shipped or received in foam have never been cracked or broken when received. Those foam things are pretty good huh? Ive thought about buying some for after im npip.

Very cool! Nice work.Mine are facing south with the west side enclosed on 4 sides. The top and bottom are wire for air flow. I put a cardboard on floor with compost for them to pick through and sleep on. They have an area to get away from most of the wind.
It is the little things you have to pay attention to. Unfortunately, until you see it, no amount of questioning and reading will connect the dots.
I have the coops on boards to stabilize and keep them from rotting. From January when the paint was drying. We have spiders to eat gnats now. Recycled lumber mostly, refrigerator shelves, new wire & tin. Fun project piecing this together. Less than $80 not including my time. $50 worth of roof. 8' width x 2' deep x 2' tall cage area. On legs that need to be cut down. I learned a bit on this one.
The 6' one is more elegant. Darker with boards on the back wall. I went all recycled lumber (6' shipping crates) and have $50 into that one with $35 of roof.View attachment 1831365
Ask the grocery store stock dudes. They just break them down for the trash.Thats about what i expectedi have to add to my adults dust baths about every 3 days and if i dont gigive them one for a couple days i can count on needing to add to it The Next day
Ok so ur asking for them not just saving what u buy, thats smart. i was thinkn i dont buy things in that kinda bulki have tons of diff things instead of cases of one thing but i dont have a sams or costco membership. And those pans are like a buck for 3 but wouldnt be disposable as readily as the free cardboard. My aunt swears by them as baby duck baths but i dont brood that many ducklings usually.
They're heeeeere! @el dorado quail 's babies! 100 + 28 extras, 0 cracked as far as I can tell, and the best packaged eggs I have ever recieved.

El Cheapo the incubator is frustrating me in that even with it's extra insulation the top and bottom are different by a whole degree, but I think I've got them balanced perfectly across 100 F.I will be upgrading the fans before next hatch I guess.
They go in at ~8pm tonight, spread across both bators. Hoping for a 40-50% hatch at least.
Not to mention what a pita it is to unwrap individual eggs that are taped up in bubble wrap.IMO, that is the best way to ship eggs. Eggs that I have shipped or received in foam have never been cracked or broken when received.
I recieved 36 Buff ring necked eggs, shipped loose in saw dust one time...all but 3 broken and those 3 were crackedNot to mention what a pita it is to unwrap individual eggs that are taped up in bubble wrap.
I once had someone send eggs nestled in sawdust. That was a disaster.
It isn't just a pita but can also be harmful to the eggs if you allow them to spin around while unwrapping them. Not to mention what a pita it is to unwrap individual eggs that are taped up in bubble wrap.
I received guinea eggs in and egg carton filled with sawdust. Other than being a mess to clean up, they hatched just fine.I once had someone send eggs nestled in sawdust. That was a disaster.
They are definitely cool. You're doing npip soon right?
