Doesn't look too bad?? It's horrible to me.Actually @texaskiki doesn’t look too bad compared to ones I had to cull....I know it’s difficult but still some hope for that lil one
Funny how those lil guys seem to be the sweetest (and most difficult to cull for me) I was sure I would have to cull more than I did but after a couple days they “disappeared” among the others!!!!Doesn't look too bad?? It's horrible to me.
I don't even like looking at him.
Occasionally I will have a guinea keet or two that will have splay leg. I take a piece of scotch tape and cut it twice as long as needed to keep the legs from spreading more than body width apart. I then cut the tape lengthwise so that it is only 1/8" in width. I carefully attach the tape to one leg and then to the other leg and press the excess length of the tape back on itself so the adhesive is all covered. Sometimes they manage to get the tape off before they are healed but most of the time it stays on until they no longer need it.I don't think I can watch this for much longer.
That is not a cute stretched out leg.View attachment 1835854 View attachment 1835855 View attachment 1835856
He's active and wants to try. Can you try the tape method that @R2elk described?
I've only used it in my brooder. Way better with the ducklings! I have shavings in the coops, but I don't keep food or water in them, so I just add a fresh layer now and then. I'd love to try the pellets, but our store is always out of them. I hoard any bag I get. LolWould it work for CX? Or for a grown-up layer coop? Do you bed it deep, or just to cover the floor?
