I just ordered quail egg scissors and trays.

I’m thinking I definitely need to get working on that cage ASAP haha

Also we think...one of the chicks (the runny poop one) has cocci. Runny poop has gotten runnier and darkened from a weird brown to a weird blackish? With even more run to it. I'm going to get some corid from tsc? How much to put in my 5gal water bucket for how long?

Powder or liquid Corid?

You really need to mix a new batch daily.
Do they drink five glons in one day or could you get away with only adding one gallon to it?



It's not cocci...either coccidia or coccidiosis. Sorry, I can't help myself.


Cocci is a bacteria.
Coccdia is a parasite that causes coccidiosis.

Our potential buyer wants them for eating. She said she wants to buy them regularly. I think she means once ever week or every other week. It would be nice to have a steady buyer, but keeping the supply up is a challenge. In 2 months I hope that our quail chicks (2 weeks old now) are laying. Depending on the number of hens in this new generation, we should be able to double our egg production. And then we have the 40 eggs in the incubator, which I should hope will create at least another dozen hens. That would get use up to 3 dozen eggs per day in about 3 months from now. Then I will really need some buyers! Oh, and a pair of quail egg scissors finally...

You are going to need more coops. Maybe a larger garage. Nah, go for a barn. How many does buyer want?

Hmm... that’s true...

I’ll try to figure out how to cancel it and do it.

Especially cause I’ve definitely bought a lot of stuff that’s gone to waste.

But that said, I feel like this is one thing that would actually get used cause I’m definitely planning on getting the quail eventually, just matter of exactly when.

And it is kind of nice to be able to just have stuff on hand and not have to order it last minute when I need it.

BUT.

That said, I guess even if I DO get quail, it won’t be for at least a few months that they’re even laying by the time they incubate/hatch and grow up and then I probably won’t even get them for at least a month or two, so I guess I could just wait and order the stuff then and use the money for something else? But I probably will buy it eventually but I guess it’s not even necessarily a necessity? Cause I could probably use chicken egg cartons? I know they’re way bigger but would probably hold them fine? And I probably don’t even need the scissor thing? I will try to cancel it haha

But I guess in my mind its totally different than my usual random books or CDs or pet supplies or whatever since I figured I might actually use this and wanted to do it before I forgot but it’s also entirely possible I won’t use it and won’t even get the quail for a while.

And then of course there’s the fact that I’m trying to get RID of stuff now not add more haha

Don’t want it to end up like when I was so sure I was gonna get goats and ordered a hoof kit (trimmers, filer, stand, hoof oil etc.) or when I was so sure I was gonna get gerbils and ordered gerbil supplies, etc......
