➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Yes a pearl Pansy rooster.:celebrate:wee
This is also the cage I received my first new egg from yesterday.
:D

He really is stunning Kiki :love He's kind of made me decide I need pansies; I was going to skip on them before because no website has pictures as gorgeous as all of the one you guys have hatched out! I'm so glad his little head wound healed up quick.

I am getting 5 pansy, silver/blue/lavender, and pearl hens from a breeder in the same neighborhood as the person I'm picking the flemish doe from next saturday. They're including 2 doz eggs as a freebie so that is pretty dope. Going to push my hatch off till then. Figured I had to take advantage of it while I was up there. They have a bunch of colors I want/don't have or only have 1 older hen and no replacement for and was stressing about.

I am going to make myself cull and eat my 2 extra boys and 2-3 of my older hens that have slowed laying in exchange. I am really enjoying having fewer birds.

His head sound was fake...it was just a few missing feathers but his little beak was hurt.
He was back to feeling normal a couple days later.
I was so happy.

He is my favorite little bird right now.

I am pretty sure I've got another few Pansys in my baby batch.

I am still trying to learn all the colors.
It is much easier for me to learn by seeing them in front of me to compare to pictures.
It is so fun to be able to spot a certain color out of the bunch.

I think this baby is one.

Do you think it’s a pearl or just regular pansy? So pretty. :love

Not sure that I really even know the difference yet between Pearl and regular.
I'm pretending the Pearl is lighter and I think this baby will be lighter.
