Ughhh..just when I thought I needed that bator I'm changing my mind.
I need quail turning properties.

I'll continue to use my not broken bator and actually spend some time (when I have it) to really research bators before I jump into buying one.

Well you beat me to it. I was going to ask about that. I tried 2 small serama eggs in one slot, they wont fit. But I thought quail may be smaller. I’m not sure if the turn distance can be changed, maybe??
So do you just use it without the turner?

These serama eggs are about 21 grams each.

I even tried placing the eggs in the middle of the slot but that didn't work either. Both at the narrow end and at the wide end of the slot. They would keep rolling after the turner stopped. The slots closer to the middle worked best but that's only a few eggs

The FI Pro 4250 uses a regular vertical turner, and when using quail rails works just fine.
It's been awhile since I bought it but I think I payed $118 at TSC

That's the backup thermostat, isn't it? That's why it says set to 102°F in case the primary thermostat quits working. You set the primary to 99.5°F

Well....sometimes I have to keep an eye on it and adjust the little knob. I think having my air conditioning running a lot today did something to my bator which made it turn on/run a little more.

The AC has been off for, I think, the last week.

On incubators that do not have a digital PID temperature controller, the incubator temperature will drift with the room temperature.

No...I can not set it and forget about it. Some days I don't adjust the knob...some days I do.

I replaced my original wafer thermostat with an electronic thermostat. I was constantly adjusting those thermostats to try to keep the temperature in control. I replaced the electronic thermostat with a digital PID temperature controller. Now that I have the temperature digitally set (no dial to turn), it keeps the incubator temperature within +/- 0.2°F even if the room temperature drifts by as much as 20°F.

Can I rig a PID thing to my styrofoam bator. I really do like it.(the bator)
