Pics?My quails feathers are starting to come in
So apparently if you don’t comment in a thread for awhile you quit getting notifications and am now 333 messages behind
Panda is a whiter Tuxedo.I am having trouble reading all messages that you guys post in one day... I end up drinking longer and longer morning coffees...
Now, is DE = Diatomaceous Earth? If yes, I am eating this myself for stomach.. I am not giving it to animals as it is expensive. My lab results will come out Wednesday so I'll see if it has any effect.
@muddyThank you for the egg weighing! I need to look into that. With chicken I know egg size depends on the breed and age of the hen. With quail I am still trying to figure out. It is not the age as my young Pharaoh hen which I lost, was laying 11-12 gram eggs from the beginning.. same with the Tuxedo... But on the other hand I have fed them both with Quail Layers mix.
Why so many colours and variations??? Let's complicate thingsIsn't Panda an English white?
I never heard of panda before today.Panda is a whiter Tuxedo.
I think that is how I heard.
The pip is near the middle of the egg, not at the fat end, so it's probably not in good position. I haven't seen any movement.
My stomach.. parasites, helicobacter pylori.Yes that is the DE we are talking about.
What are you eating it for? What are the lab results testing?
Terrible ah...So apparently if you don’t comment in a thread for awhile you quit getting notifications and am now 333 messages behind
Ok from what I know Tuxedo is a mix of white with any other color, so when the other color dominant, the white from the Texas A&M or English white is only on the chest. When the white colour is dominant you get either an English white (when the white came from English white) with interesting spots like that one called Panda, or White Jumboes when the white colour came from Texas A&M Jumbo and the quail is larger size.Panda is a whiter Tuxedo.

Have you tried antibiotics? My stomach.. parasites, helicobacter pylori.
Terrible ah...My record is 390 messages behind on this thread. No time for other threads.. I think this thread should be renamed from "Quail hatch a long" to "Full time quail breeder's." This way all of us that go to work, have families, etc. won't feel bad for being behind with reading.

I'm the same way, I guess the only way I'll know if I can do it is to try it. I'm hatching chicks this month and plan on processing them the weekend of my birthday with my husband. He's just as big of a softy as me, so it should be interesting.
