When people talk about quail colors all I hear is blah blah blah I am hopefully going to learn it. I just want to hatch, breed, and process. When I get mine I'm sure when they hatch everyone can tell me what they are. I was looking at Myshire Farm, they have assorted Coturnix Quail you can get for fertile eggs.

No! Start with the sex linked eggs from them.
The assortment will kill you. It's killing me not being able to tell which sex I have.

I'm curious Kiki, what kills 99% of bacteria in 15 seconds, the quail or the dirt?

The DE of course!
I don't even pay attention to what boxes I grab at the store...

That's one reason I quit raising Cot's, too many color variants to remember or figure out.

I guess it's good that we are raising the offspring for meat nothing else unless someone local wants to buy some. I'm not really into the whole selling just because people can be a pain in the butt. They don't take care of the animals then blame the breeder, it's just too much stress for me.

Yep, selling any bird is a PITA. If I had just a nickle for every time someone said they would be here tomorrow to pick them up, I'd be a wealthy peep!

make sure those quail don’t get drunk!!! Can’t believe you’d serve alcohol to underage quail!

Totally understandable. I get stressed just reading stuff sometimes haha

I just know from my experience with some breeders, it's a PITA. I've had breeders tell me that I have all pullets and 3 of the 4 are roosters. This is the reason why I just want to hatch my own, then if the sex is screwed up it's my own fault. I don't want to deal with anyone, but myself. I'll obviously have to buy fertile eggs from people until I have a breeding group but that should only take one order or quail eggs.
