Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
HE IS A BOY!
He is crowing!
:celebrate:celebrate:celebrate:celebrate

He is huge!
I am going to try to put him in with my three homegrown hens.
Maybe since they are older they will help him learn how to be nice.

I can't believe it.
I can't believe how big he is and he really is a boy.
:wee

I can't believe that I am excited that he is a boy.
I hope he doesn't kill my girls or I hope they don't kill him.
I'm wondering if I should wait until it gets dark to try this.

That is a good strategy!!! I should probably research quail more myself. :lau

Kiki and everyone just kinda sucked me in and made me want them haha

But now I’m not so sure. Idk. They seem like a lot of work for tiny eggs and tiny meat :lau

But they sure are cute :love

So idk.
Oh, absolutely do your research! I think you're already familiar with a lot of what you need to know, though, considering how much you're on here. ;)

I spent about three months doing research before i got my first eggs. I joined this forum because this place turned up 3 out 4 times I Googled a question.

I researched chickens too, and decided that for the amount of space that I have, the fact that I'm inside city limits with nearby neighbours, and the amount of mess and noise that I'm willing to deal with, chickens weren't for me.

Oh yeah, I definitely am!! Haha learned tons from being on here. Could always learn more though. :D

Yeah, this place always seems to pop up! Haha glad you joined!

And aww that stinks but makes perfect sense!!!

This is twice this week I've had to pull 2 males and house them alone.
I have never heard so much crowing before.

None of my adults ever make noise...besides the occasional eggs on girl.
