➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Love the emoji use lately. :D

And you have goats?? I’ve always wanted goats :hit

Understood.
A young bird flew out of a tote one day before the move outdoors, it landed on the settee right beside one of my mutts.
They just looked at each other for a second, then the quailie pooped & the mutt decided she better leave before getting accused of something:oops:.
I'd like to get a herd protector, eventually.

:highfive:Mission accomplished! ( I like anything made out of wooden pallets)
:oldMy whole place is rustic!
:barnieMy chickens think it is their daily duty:gigto crap on our back porch, and actually anything else that can be walked on &/or landed on.
:oldI decided that with that in mind & the fact that my goats are escape artists I'd better relocate the Camaro to a safer zone.
:loveI do love the banana trees.

No I am not NPIP.
I don't think I would ever try to mail live birds...I'd get busted for sure.
I'd not ever dream of mailing live birds illegally, I just keep forgetting that there are rules & everybody can't be trusted to be honest.:idunno

I am just extremely picky about who I will buy eggs from and I would never bring home live birds from anybody.
It would be awesome if we could all be self-sustaining in our poultry needs, or at least be able to get what one needs nearby from a reliable source.
I don’t think she is NPIP? But
:oldYeah, I didn't know either, but could definitely tell that she's extremely conscientious about her biosecurity measures.

I'm trying to figure out what happened. I checked on my quail this morning. I had two left in my coop, and they were fine this morning. I got home from work, and the coop was partially open (there is no way a raccoon or something got it open) and my birds and the food bowl were gone. I managed to find one of the birds, but my special, favourite hen is nowhere to be found.

The roommate is denying any knowledge of anything that happened. It would be remotely possible that I didn't close it all completely last night, but I think I would have seen it this morning. The complete mystery is what happened to the food bowl? I was using a heavy glass pyrex dessert bowl as a temporary food bowl. It is nowhere to be found. My yard isn't that big.

Yikes.

Keep looking for the bowl or broken glass.

Do you have a fenced yard?
