What is this!?

It's pecking at my tree.
It's black and white with red on its head.
It's dumb.
I want to catch it.

It depends on the size, a Downy Woodpecker is about 6 3/4" long while a Hairy Woodpecker is about 9 1/4" long. It should only be there for a few months as you are on the southernmost part of its migration area.

The red on its head indicates that it is a male.

They are Federally protected and it would be illegal for you to catch it.

I would not post about an illegal activity in a public forum. He is not hurting your tree. They do not peck live tissue. It is eating grubs and other bugs that are damaging your tree.

There are 20 minutes left on 180 count mixed eggs, and no one has bid on them yet. There's a potential for a real steal there...

Edit: If I could think of how I would keep that many chicks, I would bid.

Only if I can get them in about a month. I have 60 eggs coming on Tuesday and 27 button eggs in one of my smaller incubators now.
