One of the white ones started strutting yesterday, pretty funny at that size. I've got an outside brooder set up for them.

See the pen on concrete blocks? 2' x 3 or 4', it has built in roosts & a feeder as well. You think that would work for a couple weeks, @R2elk ?

If they were mine, I would not stick them in that cage. I start my poults in a 4'x4' brooder. By the time they are 2 weeks old, I move them to a grow out pen that is approximately 7'x8'. They are typically starting to fly by the time they are 2 weeks old.

I think tonight at 7:00 will be a full 48 hours that my eggs have been in the incubator.... I do a plan on being able to tell which ones are fertile or not.
Hopefully I I am actually able to tell.

If not I should be able to tell for sure by tomorrow night.

I think the one I candled is fertile. It's not clear, at least.

Hey guys, any of y'all deal with Prolapse???

I should know exactly what's wrong & what to do, but maybe 2nd opinions to reassure me.

Noticed my hen in the nest acting like she was laying an egg....
I don't know if she laid today already or not bc there are several hens in her pen... Anyways, up on further inspection I see her backside has prolapsed. I Epsom salt bathed her for about 10 minutes or so. That "stuff" came out of her, I was able to get everything put back in after the bath, used PrepH. She's been panting for the last 30 minutes or so, has just stopped that. But everytime she tries to move or anything the Prolapse slides back out again. So I'm holding her wrapped in a towel hoping that it'll stay in....
What else should I do? Can she go right back into her group pen?

I know Bobs & Buttons will, but I think super rare for Coturnix to go broody.
