I agree and just did it. Food and water in the incubator. Lights off.

Re-re-reconfigured brooder at 96°F and holding under the light. Heating pad under half the floor. Figure this out tomorrow. Been a big day. Thanks for coming along.

I know everyone has an “I’m right!” mindset. I am just not into forcing food and water the second a chick hatches. That is for mammals.
Leave them in the incubator, and don’t drown them in the brooder. I’ve never had to dunk a head (it’s supposed to be beak) for any bird. Even dumb poults.

A couple of these are giant. Most are 13 grams, but there's a few that are 20 grams. Not sure if they are double yolkers, we shall see.
