➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I’ve been just absolutely sick all day! I had my son on standby to get home and get my eggs off the porch within 10 minutes of delivery and the postman took it upon himself to not leave them today saying no secure place for delivery!! (when this is like 3rd time I’ve had eggs delivered to my house) wouldn’t redeliver today nor allow me to pick up before closing so now it will be tomorrow!! Hopefully the dumbass won’t leave them out in the cold all night!!!

What? I'm suppering and talking with Crazy Lady. What are you waiting on?
I don't know... something....an update.
Are the live ones still alive?

The light was staying on 24/7 but now that I've lowered the temp it turns on and off.

At this age it won't hurt them to have it on all the time.

yep. kids went upstairs and said all are sitting upright and responsive. Going up in a bit.
Good bring a phone with you.
Bring a few phones.
Try all of their flashlights.
See if there is anything happening in the last eggs.

I have a post office from... the hot place. They don’t call about chicks until the afternoon in case someone is sleeping. Even if you tell them the day before to call as soon as they get in. So, I used to wait outside, watch them be taken off the truck, and brought to the dock...
The mailman was three hours late delivering mail. He left $300 of eggs on the side of the highway, on the ground, in the freezing rain. The next day he stammered that he’d pay for them. I told him the cost, and never saw a cent. They were from a local BYC member, so we skipped the insurance. I’m not sure if that’s covered anyway.

Well, a thing a happened. The first three decided they didn't need heat. I came home to three little bitties sprawled out in the cold space. Gathered them up and stuck them back in the incubator. After a bunch of minutes, it looks like everyone is good. Do I need to worry about anything? I'm considering the heat lamp and smarter quail...

The 2 quail that I helped still have shell glued to their backs. AND curled toes. I'm concerned about the curled toes.

6 hatched. 1 pipped and 3 to be determined. ALL in the incubator.

How long do I wait for the curled toes to uncurl?
I've tried to use heating pads on quail several times and always came home to quailcicles. They don't get it. I only use a heat lamp for quail now. Who would have thought that chickens would be the smart ones but they get it. The quail not so much.
