➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

:lau I have a lot saved from the dog walking/sitting and pay for them with that! And my parents don’t mind the animals. Although my dad doesn’t really want more and has said it’s not a farm :lau
Do you have enough saved to pay your car note in insurance for an entire year?

Yeah I think so. I have like $6000 atm. Probably almost $7000 now actually. Although I’m trying to save out to move it so can’t really spend it all aha I do need a real one, you are right about that, and I’m actually way more motivated to find one now, but I’m just saying even though I don’t necessarily have a “real” one, I still pay for a lot of stuff myself and the dog walking has earned me a lot aha

You’re a big girl. There’s a lot of jobs out there. Go get one. I know it’s scary, but honestly, you’ll like it. You get out of the house, meet new people... having a job to go to can actually be a lot of fun. Plus you get money. That’s always nice. Seven thousand a year isn’t gonna get you your own place. You need a real job.

The tone and sarcasm really wasn’t necessary. I am well aware there’s a lot of jobs and that I need one and have zero problems with getting one.

I was not saying I don’t want one or making any excuses. I am actually a lot more motivated to find one now than I ever was before due to some recent changes I’ve been making. I’m trying.

Therefore, I wasn’t saying that that money would be enough to live off of permanently or that I don’t need to find a job. That’s not why I mentioned the dog walking.

I was simply correcting the (wrong) assumption that my parents pay for everything or that I earn nothing. I am earning some of my own money and I save just about all of it.

That account was made in September 2018 so about a year and a half of saving. Some of it came from birthdays, graduation, holidays, etc. but only a very very small percentage. The vast majority of it came from the dog walking and pet sitting alone. And I could make even more if I found more clients, which I want to eventually, but I’m not going to. I’ve been applying for other jobs.

Really don’t appreciate the implication that I don’t want a job or am lazy or stupid or whatever. I’m not an idiot. I know that dog walking will not support me forever. But I DO pay for plenty of my own stuff. In fact, I am now paying for my own car. I’m not a child or an idiot.

Also, all of that said, dog walking/pet sitting is a perfectly valid job. It’s not just for kids anymore. Plenty of people make careers in the pet industry. In fact, it’s one of the fastest growing industries right now. So the implication from everyone that it’s not real or that it’s just an excuse to avoid finding a “real” one or I’m just lazy is also highly unappreciated. It’s actually a helluva lot more work than any retail or office job would be.

My quail eggs will hatch this Sunday, I hope they hatch! I have a total of 24.

But that said, I have been applying to regular ones in the meantime until I am ready to start my own business, but I WILL do so eventually. Although I think I am going to pursue more the training side and cert certified as a professional trainer but still.
