PF/HG button lockdown complete!!! I only candled about half for time efficiency but already have draw down and internal pips on several so that most of hatching is complete by bedtime Sunday night!!!!

i had 2 tux dummies that got stuck in my feeder today and 1 slipped a tendon as a result!! I actually put him back in the full feeder and it looked better on last trip out to the shed...... for full recovery as I would hate to cull at 3 weeks old!!!

I just put mine into lockdown yesterday! Here's what I spent yesterday finishing up. A friend built the frame, I paid a neighbour to put the door on, and I did all of the hardware cloth.

Here's a funny story to go with the new pen. I was inside looking for hens (I have a buyer for six once I can identify them) and the bottom latch dropped down and locked me in.

Good thing it's intended to be moved so it isn't too heavy!

Good thing it's intended to be moved so it isn't too heavy!

The latch pulls on my coop broke because the cold made the wire so brittle—that plus the high winds last week meant that I got locked in! Thankfully, I was able to get creative and use a piece of wire to unlatch it before I froze to death in my jacket.
