➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

QB#13 MyShire Jumbos first generation descendants Set1.
34 eggs started
Just pulled 1 clear and 2 early quitters.
31 eggs to lockdown.

QB#12 MyShire Jumbos first generation descendants Set1
14 remaining at 3 weeks. Cute not-so-little-anymore chicks running around pooping and eating and pooping a lot more.
these guys getting booted out to the 6' coop for grow out this weekend.

QB#9 - Kiki specials - 2 wild males and 2 rosetta undecideds. No light on these turkeys, so no one is crowing. 2 hens in the same coop are starting to lay and feathers are getting ruffled. 7 weeks old. Should be mature.

Since Set1 is doing so well with fertility at 1 year old, QB#14 will be another meat batch from the 1 year olds. Probably butcher after the last egg collection and replace with daughters.

Although, I do have requests (not sales) from family for quail eggs. Hmm...

Quail hatching in full swing. The permethrin horse fly spray worked well on the buffalo gnats. Hoping they don't return.

@Kiki - are you powerless? Are you well?

Refresh my memory, why are you hatching buttons? Back to the gotta hatch them all? Or are you getting Zebra Finch eggs and competing with a couple others on here for a menagerie?

Since the coturnix squeezed through the bars on the Townhouse, I'm concerned that your 1/2" hardware cloth lined coops will be a challenge to contain buttons.

Hope the buttons are stable.

Yes...the worker men's had it back on by ten-ish.

I found a fish tank.

Announcing the first pip! How do these guys know what time it is? Amazing. Nature is amazing.
And just to show you how stir crazy I really am; announcing the second pip!

@BantyChooks - is this proper use of a semicolon? I feel it is and have been practicing. I'm fighting apostrophe abuse at work. Possessive versus plural is a real issue.
