➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I just pulled four more, and thought I heard another. I checked the first pipper, and it is emerging slowly.

I see my first pip! You'd think I'd be over the excitement by now, but it never gets old.

Edit: I just set 12 button eggs in my little incubator. I really want to see if higher humidity makes a difference in the hatch rate. I wouldn't have set these except that I'm pretty sure I have a buyer for the extras.
I've been hatching all kinds of birds for 50+ years, I still have that 'first time' wonderment with every hatch! :love

Look what I found this morning!!!! How do you water these little buggers without setting it up as a drowning pool? The clear lid beside the HUGE Button is to a little water bottle.

Put small rocks in it. I use a parakeet waterer for button quail now. Also, make sure you have feed piles in multiple locations across the brooder; I've found it helps keep their caloric intake up during this fragile stage.
