Put small rocks in it. I use a parakeet waterer for button quail now. Also, make sure you have feed piles in multiple locations across the brooder; I've found it helps keep their caloric intake up during this fragile stage.

That should probably work, though I usually use something the size of the smaller cap that you posted an image of.

I'm the same! I won't sleep for several days now, because I'll have to keep one eye on their waterer & the other on the incubator!!!

Look what I found this morning!!!! How do you water these little buggers without setting it up as a drowning pool? The clear lid beside the HUGE Button is to a little water bottle.

Here's what I use for button quail...can't find them anymore? Got them off eBay about 6 or 7 years ago. Absolutely 'drown proof'. I think Cutler Suppy use to sell them too?

Parakeet waterers are essentially the same; you can still buy them labelled as such.
