Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
I've been asking around and is seems like some survive okay. We'll see how it does. If it looks like it's suffering, I'll cull. Otherwise I'll give it a chance.
If I'm not mistaken I think @BantyChooks had one hatch like this once.
I can't remember but I think that it was okay for a couple of days and then it went downhill.
 
I didn't want to post because I've been having trouble with my incubator, but ....

Normally I incubate them in egg crates, standing on end. This time I did it laying down and a couple are trying to pip from the small end and need a bit of help, but they're strong and healthy once they're out! This little guy kicked off his shell and stood up about 5 seconds after this picture was taken.

Oh I feel so bad Bee I haven't been back over there in a while..... I really am just super super busy right now.:barnie

I automatically cull because if you don't, you never know if whoever ends up with it will stupidly use it as breeding stock.
